[in the library, Oliver is sitting in one of two large armchairs with a side table between them. he doesn't have a book in front of him, though--he's just holding his black datapad, furiously typing something into it. on the table next to him is a cup of tea and a plate of scones, although they're no longer as warm as they were when he first started. he appears to have taken exactly three bites out of one of the scones, but the cup of tea has been reduced to half-full. at least it's not going to waste]

[Oliver himself is completely oblivious to his surroundings. he's so focused on what he's doing that, most likely, he won't even hear anyone approaching. but he doesn't seem to mind that at the moment; his expression is one of concentration. he looks tired, too. it seems all of the events on the Plane recently are taking their toll on him]

[muttering to himself] Damnit, I can't remember. They're my friends! I should know all this...

[does anyone care to interrupt whatever he's working so hard on?]

[Oliver jumps rather horribly. don't sneak up behind him!]

Huh? Oh! Hi! Um...yeah. I'm fine. [Oliver laughs awkwardly, embarrassed, as he turns to see Neeloc. he quickly presses the button to turn off the datapad screen, which was showing a list of names with short descriptions--people Oliver knew who used to come to the Plane but he hasn't seen in a long time]

What about you? That's a lot of books.

[ Shifting the stack of books to have a better hold of them he smiles sheepishly. ]

Yeah, I'm doing some more research since I'm here. I haven't been around much lately I've been so busy but I figured I'd pop in for a bit, you know-- to see what's going and such.

I've been trying to learn as much as I can about other alien races in the universe and I thought I'd start by learning more about humans! [ Or in particular, their arts and cultures, as noted by the different books in his arms in regards to said topics. ]

And I thought that if I had any questions there are plenty of humans around here!

[stares] ...seriously!? That's so cool!

[ He can't help chuckling at that. ] You think so?

Yeah! I mean...'course! You're not even...like... [he waves a hand vaguely] I mean, you know, old. Ah, unless you are old! But you don't look old. You seem more like...um...well, not like the other Time Lords I've met. I hope that makes sense. [he scratches the back of his head, sheepish]
