{Mary appears on the Astral Plane, sitting down and patching up a rather beat up looking poncho. It’s dirty, smelly, and full of holes, but it obviously doesn’t bother her, since she’s at least fixing the holes. Nor do her new surroundings, it would seem. She finishes her careful patching of one of the holes before she finally looks up.}

So it’s that time? {She smiles, starting to turn the poncho in her hands towards another hole} I didn’t expect that I would visit this place so soon. It's not at all like I imagined, more beautiful. Chrno and all the others, I think this place would be much to their liking.

{She pauses and instead looks up to the stars all around again} It kind of makes you feel like you're standing right next to God, being in the heavens like this.

[Sheepish smile.] Not really. I'm just...used to thinking a certain way, I guess. Sometimes it's hard to see that there's many sides to people.

You...really have a lot of faith in people, don't you?

Absolutely. I see their thoughts, memories, and lives, both good and bad, but I have seen much more good in people than bad. I believe in people because even though we are capable of the most unimaginable cruelty, we are also more than capable of the most profound kindness. People are not black and white, just a shade of gray in between.

And you think that monsters and demons are the same way?

I know that they are. Those demons are wary of humans, and because of that they are portrayed as inherently evil. Yet once they are given a chance to be accepted by humans, the differences become minuscule. I believe that "monsters", as we call them, must be the same way.
