[Things were good for Duo Maxwell. There was peace on Earth and the colonies, Quatre had his father's company under control, Trowa was performing that night at his colony and he had just found out that Hilde got accepted into the Uni, even though she managed to go get lost with her boy friend or something-- oh well. She'll be back! And still, with the things as they were; his childhood home being restored, his own peace of mind, he couldn't help but enjoy his time.

So he relaxed in a hammock tied between two trees in the forest, his long braid draping off to one side as he gave himself a small little push now and again.]

[ooc: Duo made a wish to go back and change his history. As far as the time paradox allows him to remember, he and his fellow gundam pilots took back the world and pushed OZ back in the small window of opportunity they had to succeed. Everything turned out alright. He remembers events in the plane, but from his altered point of view.]

[Conan had started out walking to help settle his thoughts but had found himself becoming engrossed before he realised it, walking as far as the forest before noticing his surroundings.]

Ah--

[Duo noticed Conan out of the corner of his eye and lifted himself up.] Oh? Hey there. [A friendly wave.]

[Encouraged by the wave, Conan came over.]

Hi! Ne ... I kind of wasn't paying attention to where I was going ... could you tell me how to go back to where it is most people first appear?

Actually I think it's just back the way you came. No problem, right?

No problem at all -- now. Thanks a lot!

[Conan paused.] You brought the hammock with you specially?

Yeah, I did.

Your home's pretty busy, right?

[This kid had him pegged.]

Too busy sometimes. Why do you ask?

You're not tanned enough to live near a beach, and you don't look like you're dressed for a holiday, so that means you probably had to get the hammock specially. That's a lot of effort to go to, unless you come here or are planning to come here a lot for rest or quiet. So, I guessed that your home had to be pretty busy!

Heh heh. Cute. Deductive reasoning from a few assumptions?

I actually got it from a friend a long time ago so it's not really that big of deal.

Yup! It's harder to do here because everyone's worlds are so different.

Ha, I guess the Plane is good for relaxing then.

I'll tell you what kid. Get to know me a little more and then you can go ahead and deduce whatever you want.

[He chuckled a little bit.] Conan then? [Old style Japanese name structure. He'd met a few people who still used those old customs but not many anymore. Certainly not Heero.]

Duo Maxwell.

Right! It's nice to meet you Duo-san.

Yeah. Cool.

[He relaxes again in his hammock.]

Ne ... what is your world like?

It's normal. We live in space colonies and the world's been at war for a few years, but we're finally have peace so that's always a good thing.

[Ha ... That's normal?]

Living in space colonies? I guess I was right -- there's no beaches on the moon, right?

You were right about that. But there's still beaches on Earth. Not that I've been to one in a while.

Cause you're busy, right?

[Lives on a space colony but has travelled to earth, seemingly frequently -- or is that the Plane's doing? It'd be easy to visit if you were friendly with someone ... and there is the gift of the hammock ... Conan mentally shrugged, deciding he didn't have the evidence either way.]

Because I live in space. But you could always count the one over there. [He points to the beech sands stretching out a ways away from them.]

But yeah, I'm busy. You know, all work no play.

[Conan follows Duo's gesture speculatively.] It's not really a beach without sun or water is it? Although this is one is definitely in space ...

That's too bad!
