[B and L stand beside each other, both slouched, both with fingers to their mouths, both with thoughtful eyes - and, of course, both wearing the same clothes and sporting the same hairstyle. After a few moments of looking around at everybody, B speaks.] Has anyone experienced some form of integration between their reality and another's? We would appreciate any information on this subject.

Is your reality integrated with someone you're familiar with?

[Thoughtful look.] It must be. Milo was able to bring me to Antimilos before. And I can sort of...I don't really know how to describe it, but I can feel his reality in certain areas of Tokyo.

Also a large shrine has appeared where one of the parks used to be, but I'm not sure who that belongs to. Not Milo, I'm sure.

Do you have any control over this 'integration' that you're aware of?

[Frowns and is silent for a bit.] I'm...not sure. I've never tried it. That's an interesting idea, though. Hm...

Hm. At the very least, the mergers themselves seem to come about based on "closeness"--getting to know a person. But I could try to see if I could effect which parts of reality end up merging...or if I could keep certain parts out...

[Blinks as he remembers something.] A wall, maybe...[Trails off, lost in thought.]

...Closeness? [B stares at him blankly. He almost wants to compare his reality with L's even more now, in order to see how supposedly "close" they are.]

How would you try to affect it? Do you have a plausible method in mind?

[Looking between them a bit warily, because whoa, dopplegangers.] Emotional closeness, I think. Like...[frowns just a little,] between friends.

There's another person here whose reality was merging with someone else's, only he didn't want the merge to happen. I suggested he "build a wall" between the realities. Not a literal wall, rather...[Trying to explain it in non-Contractor/Gate/crazy terms] a mental wall. Like visualizing a wall between realities. Of course in that case you need to know where the edges are. He didn't take my advice, anyway, so I have no idea whether it would even work or not.

But if you could find one of those spots where your reality is blending with someone else's--if you could envision a wall around it...[Shrugs.] I don't know. I'm not even sure if we're capable of affecting things on that level.

[Frowns.] I've spent time with him. We talk pretty often, I suppose. [Shrugs.] I don't know.

In that case, was there any particular event that could, so to speak, be considered the 'catalyst' for your realities merging?

Are you positive that your realities hadn't integrated before that time?

It's possible. There were certain areas in Tokyo that seemed...fuzzy, I suppose, before that. But there was no major integration until then.

My reality overlapped with that of a friend of mine. Otherwise, very little seems out of the ordinary.

Were you acquainted with this friend before you had access to the Astral Plane?

In a sense, yes. He is from another version of my world.

Hm, I see. Are you aware of the differences in your world - whatever it is that make them separate?

I am. It seems that he is not only some time ahead of me, but there are several people in my world who survived a certain event. In his, they did not.

He never gave me a date, but I believe it to be between several weeks to several months,

[a pauses, frowning. Look, the detective uses his brain!] So you're B [points to B] and you're L? [never introduced to L, no]<?i.

[Aaaand sure enough, there he is. Mr. Sam Tyler, Detective Inspector.]

[B considers having fun with this for a moment - would L let him get away with claiming that he's L? - but decides against it. Instead, he says:] Yes, and yes. [He's slouched over rather far, so that he almost has his eyes angled up as far as possible in order to look at him. He chews his finger.]

All right. What is it you two want, then?

[Kinda staring at him, unblinkingly.] We are trying to get information on the intergration of realities.

Any. What can you tell us?

Not much. The Guv'n I have fully merged reality, and there are bits of Minato and Fumie's realities, too.

Did you have any control over the merge?

Not conscious, as far as we knew.

Well, we'd had a... a major falling out. And when we worked that through, we found things put back to normal.

'Cause I know every room in my TARDIS, and, as far as I can tell, no one has a reality in the same period of technological development as the space station she's parked in. Any changes would stick out like a sore thumb.
