[in some parts of the world and the universe, it is July 25th. for a Time Lord, it is always July 25th somewhere at some time (as well as many other days if we really wish to get complicated and pedantic), and today is no exception. now, the Doctor isn't always on-time; in fact, he often misses things nine times out of ten, so when he actually does manage to turn up on-time, well, one can assume he just got lucky.]
[but even before that odd fairy tale business where he met a creature almost as chatty as him (but with phenomenal cosmic powers contained in a space that DEFINITELY wasn't bigger on the inside than the outside), he's been planning something special for Oliver. he figures he owes it to his travelling companion; he's able to do plenty for Harriet when they're on Earth, but not Oliver. and anyway, he's missed...well, a good number of birthdays, though for his friend it hasn't been that many (or so the Doctor thinks. he's not too good keeping track of that sort of thing in the first place.)]
[so! for the past hour or so, the Doctor threw a giant sheet over the entire building to hide the inside from view from wandering eyes. granted, he's also dashed outside a number of times, making several trips back and forth to the kitchen with a tea trolley he brought from the TARDIS, but once that hour is up, he runs back outside and tears the cloth off! nothing has been done to the outside of the building, of course, but inside, there are tables covered with all sorts of foods from lord knows where; multi-coloured drinks containing all sorts of alcohol have been poured into glasses all along the bar; and a special tap has been installed just for the occasion carrying Oliver's favourite beer from Birmingham. all sorts of party decorations have been thrown onto the walls, like tiny lights that blink in time with music, blue flames that flicker rhythmically like a metronome and maintain a steady, comfortable temperature in the room no matter how many people are in it, and paper streamers that smell like strawberries.]
[and, because the Doctor loves them so much and he figures Oliver would as well despite it being only a Christmas tradition, there is an entire table of Christmas crackers set below a glowing sign that reads: "Happy Birthday Ollie!".]
[with everything all set, he grins, proudly surveying his work, and slaps a sign on bar door that reads, "Everyone is welcome! Come join the fun!", and then runs off to find Oliver, who should be wandering about somewhere nearby.]
[ooc: This is a party post! So go ahead and mingle with one another, chat with Ten (at any point in the party; doesn't have to be after the bar reveal!), and/or give the birthday boy some birthday spankings! (Or offer him a toast for his continued health and a year free from dying a horrible Plane death. Whatever strikes your fancy~) But mainly, have fun! That's what birthday celebrations are for~]

Wedding proposals, though... [he gives Eithan a significant look. if he's back on the Plane and not hurt, that means everything went to plan, right...?]
no subject
[Wedding proposals, indeed. The very mention makes him wince jokingly.] I, uh... was just about to do that, but then I gotreallynervousandcamehere. [Why yes, he does say that fast enough for it to sound like one really long word.]
But she's comin' over like... any minute now. I mean, any minute once I go back to my place. You know what I mean.

[Oliver turns to Eithan in disbelief] What!? You've gotta go back! Don't leave her waiting!
[never mind time isn't passing while Eithan's on the Plane. it's the principle of the thing!]

I know, I know! I'm not gonna be here long! I just... need to get my thoughts together. Or somethin', you know? It'll be fine!
[He bites his lip. You know, he wouldn't admit these worries to just anyone...]
Time doesn't pass here. So she's not really there yet, so I've got a few seconds to stop feelin' like she's gonna say no. Right?

You're right. It's now or never! [Pause] Okay, no, not never. More like, now or next week. But I'd rather it be now, so... right! I'm goin'.

Oh, and happy birthday again! I'm not gonna forget to get you a present, alright? [Aaand after that, he's gone. ♥]
