Why do we have to pretend we don't grieve for those that died? There's nothing wrong with feeling sad when someone passes on.

Waiting to grieve until the battle is done isn't the same as not grieving at all. Yet, I keep being told that I shouldn't grieve over the lives lost. But even if they died for a noble purpose it's, still sad. Why can't we acknowledge that?
