[Matti's sitting somewhere, sulking. That, and she may or may not have been crying up until recently. Even with an American-flag  party hat on her head and a tiny twinge of alcohol available to those with a good sense of smell.

Because she just got away from the celebration of her sister's birthday, where she was force-fed spiked Coke to "live a little" and hit on by her drunken mother, and no one even thought about her birthday on the 1st, after she gave them three days to try and remember (practically a tradition by now). So she's gone to the Plane, the place where no one confuses her for her sister or (usually) forgets her presence.

No, I'm not alright! Everyone ignored my birthday again, and I was lucky to get a fish from my pet Kermode bear, and they made a big fuss over my sister's birthday and Alice got drunk off her ass, and so did maman, and they all tried to get me drunk, too, and....!! Gah, I h-hate this t-time of year....
