(no subject)

[A young alien boy appears on the Plane. He initially seems a bit taken aback, obviously not expecting to be here.]

What...?

[He turns around, inspecting where he is.]

Have I ended up in the veil? Wait. No... this can't be the veil. [Pause.] Hm.

[He walks a few feet, just getting a bearing of his surroundings.]

Look. I do not have time for this. I demand an explanation as to where I am. And... why exactly I'm here. I have a very serious and important game to be playing. One of dire consequences, and I would like to get back to it. Sometime soon. Preferably in the next few minutes.

[STRONG Equius needs no brochures or just happens to not have appeared near them really.]

I can offer an explanation. Though I wouldn't worry too much about the passage of time, not while you're here. It tends to be a non-issue.

[Braxiatel lifts his eyebrows, but allows it its continuation.] Thank you.

This is called the Astral Plane. It is a meeting point between assorted alternate universes and histories. Anybody from any world or time may access the Plane if brought into its experiment by what are known as the Hosts. The Machine is the focal point of this experiment, though there has been a distressing lack of clarity on what, precisely, the Machine is, and the nature of the experiment is not clear either, though, given some of the trials, it is occasionally suspected to be mere sadism.

I was aware, yes. So far, we've yet to find a way to make it reassuring. [Though what is that bit about doomed timelines?] The system does seem to put up some guards against temporal catastrophe from its interference, but the limits haven't been tested.

Unfortunately, it has not been made clear what, exactly, the Machine is. In theory, we could even be standing inside of it.

Well if we find anything, no doubt your assistance will be asked for. [Well, probably. Either way, he smiles in response to the greeting.] No apologies required, certainly not in this situation. I'm Irving Braxiatel.

[nepeta's been prowling around the astral plane for awhile now, searching for any viable sources of entertainment. although she's got a brochure dangling limply from a hand, she's mostly been unsuccessful.. so when she hears a new voice, she's quick enough to pay attention even before she realises that demanding, bossy voice is really familiar.]

[hopefully that was enough warning, because yeah now he has a flying catgirl trying to tacklepounce him]

The good news is you have time, actually.
