[In pops Marta, mid-walk. It's a slow walk, and her gaze is on the ground. She's sad again, and it shows in the way she's holding herself, how she's fussing with the ends of her hair with both hands, in her heavy sigh.

'The most important thing you can do right now is run...' well, may as well run to the Plane and get some thinking done, right? And what is there to think about? Well, nothing pretty. Altamira under attack, Regal and Sheena in danger, the Vanguard's twisted plans... And somehow, it all comes back to one central idea for her... ]

Is this my fault, for being so naive? ... What should I do...?

[She finds a quiet spot in the forest, beneath one of the trees near the edge. She sits on the ground, knees drawn up to her chest, and quietly lets her thoughts spin on themselves. Maybe she'll just sleep here, while she has the chance...]


((OoC: Canon bump!! Marta and Emil are now in Chapter 7! /confetti! For those keeping score at home: Magnar was defeated and the Vanguard's plans have been revealed - the group is now traveling to Mizuho.))

[He looks rather taken aback by that for a few moments. What sort of a people are these Vanguard, anyway? Still, he doesn't believe this is something she should blame herself over.]

Even so, I'd not say that it's your fault. It's theirs for trying to force ye so.

Yeah, but... I just wish it hadn't happened at all. [Sigh...] I turned myself in, but Emil and the others rescued me. They even managed to get the detonator, so they couldn't set off the bombs. I don't know what I'd do without them.

But now the others are off fighting the Vanguard on their own, and the only thing Emil and I can do right now is run. It's... frustrating.

Aye, but those Vanguard sound very dangerous. [And no place for a lassie to be, if you ask him.]

Emil will see ye safe, at least.

They are dangerous. But they never had to be. It never had to get this bad...

[That does get her to smile a bit.] Yeah. he's being so brave for me, and I can't even keep it together right now.

How do ye mean, Marta? What happened that it got that bad?

The Vanguard wasn't always such a bad group! They used to be a liberation group. They used to help the people who were being oppressed. But now... they've changed. A lot. I never thought they'd be hurting innocent people...

Well, something must have, to make them act so. [That doesn't sound good at all to him, however, and he looks faintly troubled.]

Do ye know how it started, though? Maybe there's something that can be done, once you're safe again.

I'm not sure exactly how it started. It was a slow change, I don't think I can come up with a single starting point... does that make sense?
