[Hello, Plane, who's hungry?

There's an abandoned basket in the middle of the Plane, filled to the brim with cupcakes. To be exact, maple cupcakes with maple frosting and maple syrup poured over them. They're freshly baked and smell pretty good to those who like sweets.

Now, remember how I said it was abandoned? It's actually not. There's a girl there, but she's mostly invisible. Really, only about 20% opacity. And aside from looking up if she thinks someone looked at her, she's just silently sitting next to the basket and playing with her hair.

[Matti is lucky. Jamie has a rotten geographical sense - well, outside of a small area of the United Kingdom, that is - and he only looks momentarily puzzled.]

Aye? Not too long, then. It's been...well, about a year for me, I think. Although ye never know with this place. Things always seem to be changing when ye least expect them to.

E-ehehe.... w-well... s-she's been known to throw books into the stews... b-but she still wants to cook... a-and since she's sort of my big sister, I usually have to eat it.... a-a-and then she just gets drunk and complains about the Scottish for no reason...

[Jamie's mouth pulls off to one side in a somewhat displeased manner. Books in stews are bad enough, but being Scottish himself, he doesn't take kindly to being complained about.]

[Matti gets the feeling she shouldn't have let that slip. But of course she has to answer the questions. Maybe this will eventually make sense.]

W-well... e-everytime she messes something up, she says a drunken Scott ruined it.... a-and she's said Brittain is better without the Scottish... b-b-but I'm sure she just wants to have someone to blame...

[As he listens, the slight scowl fades. It sounds a bit as though this other girl is trying to shift the blame away from herself. While he doesn't know why Matti's sister would want to pick on the Scottish, it's not her fault that the girl is like that.]

I see. Well, maybe it's for the best you're able to come here. Ye can have a moment's peace without having to worry about her causing ye problems.

[Jamie gives her a small smile, to show he's not angry.] Or have a bite to eat without having to fish wee bits of paper out of it first.

A-ah... I-I don't worry about her causing problems... a-a-as as about problems getting caused for her... b-but it is nice to escape her cooking... I-it makes me wish sis could come here, too... s-she always complains about Alice's cooking, s-so... [Then again, could the Plane take Ms. America McStuffing-Shirt-With-Burgers? Probably not.]

E-ehehe... I-I guess I didn't make that clear... [Ooh, sounds like she can have a monologue. Monologues are fun.]

S-see... M-my sister's name is Amelia... p-people call her America, usually... a-and she's my twin... e-even though her hair is shorter than mine... a-and we dress completely differently... a-and my eye color's changed... p-people still confuse us... a-a-and I can't get anyone to notice me unless they think I'm sis... s-so I guess the reason people here notice me is that they haven't seen her.... A-anyway, Alice is sort of... like a mother figure... sh-she took me from maman and raised me since I was little.... a-along with sis, but she already lived with Alice... A-Alice usually gets called England... a-a-and she really hates maman nowadays.... [Now that she thinks about it, England really should be "Brittain"... okay, she's gonna space out for a second here.]

[Which somewhat makes sense. Besides, he's not entirely surprised to hear that someone from England isn't overly fond of the Scottish and has decided to use them as a scapegoat. Although it is a wee bit strange that everyone seems to have a country as their nickname, come to think about it.]
