[This morning, Jade woke up feeling strange. It did not take him long to realise that, while fonons were moving through him at the usual rate, he wasn't able to perform any artes. That was unusual. What was more unusual was the power that complimented the absence.

It was not unusual how easy it was for him to think of things he could do with that power.

Obviously, there are three ways to stop oneself from using phenomenal cosmic powers to alter history and correct a past of death and suffering. He starts with way Number One:]

[Jade pops up on the Astral Plane, holding the letter he received in hand.]

It seems I've kindly been invited on a scavenger hunt. Should anyone else have also been asked to participate, may I humbly request that they take over for me? I'm afraid such energetic activities strain me these days.

[Riku frowns. He's holding the same note in his hand, and his blindfold is off, for once - no need for it right now, considering he can actually see. For anyone else, that would be a good thing... ]

[darkercalling]

[He shakes his head.] No. I'm... running on guesswork. [Aggravated sigh.]

[Proving how horrible it is to talk to him:]

There's no reason to discount guesswork. What ideas do you have so far?

[darkercalling]

It's not something I'd immediately miss or I would have noticed what it is by now. That doesn't exactly help. In fact, I think it makes it worse.

What was taken from you? Maybe it'll give me an idea...

[clinical]

Was anything taken from you with respect to innate abilities?

[darkercalling]

[He crosses his arms, expression turning dark.]

Forget about scavenger hunts, would you? My rappigs are loose somehow. I have Gailardia looking, but there's still no sign.

[he cuddles the rappig in his arms]

Did they? What are the chances of that? [Jade always sounds so guilty. It is like he was born guilty.] I'm sure Gailardia will do an excellent job finding them.

[He hands it to Peony.] Doubtless, they didn't want to hazard through your room.

I can all ready tell it's not fashion sense, as you're still wearing the same ugly things you always wear.

[And he looks somewhat panicked by it's disappearance. Or, well, as panicked as Mu ever gets.]

Are you certain? It might be memory loss. [Why he insists on claiming that Mu is old, only he knows.]

[There's something else he's not saying, but Mu doesn't think his sudden lack of Cosmo is any of Jade's business. Too bad he's never seen Jade performing his Artes or they'd suddenly have a hell of a lot more to talk about.]

[Riku has confirmed something to him, which means that Jade has a mind to ask about these questions.] Have you lost any of your abilities or gained any abilities unfamiliar to you?
