[contract_star]

[Hei appears in his black coat this time, right after this. He almost collapses the moment he steps onto the Plane, but he manages to stay standing. He's pale and haggard and is clutching a rather nasty gash on his side which looks like it was made by a sword or perhaps a metal pole thrown at high speed. He's bleeding quite a bit.

Once he has steadied himself, he makes his way to the closest solid object, which happens to be the bar, and he sits down with his back to it. He winces as he presses harder at the wound. Not fatal, he decides, but he's not going anywhere anytime soon either.]

Think I need a medic...

[Nods.] Go ahead.

[lamb_of_gold]

[Gingerly places his hands on the wound and as they begin to glow gold, the wound begins to stitch itself closed]

This aside, are you well? [There's an implication in that beyond the obvious.]

[contract_star]

[Watching the pretty lights...]

I'm alright. You?

[lamb_of_gold]

[Moving his hands around the area of the wound to make sure the tissue around it heals as well]

As well as I could hope to be.

[contract_star]

[Closes his eyes and lets Mu work. Yay, pain is going away.]

It's been a rough week. [Understatement!]

[lamb_of_gold]

[pulls his hands away carefully to look - all that's left is a pinkish scar ]

I can imagine. A hard time at home?

[contract_star]

[Inspects the scar, touching it gingerly. Still tender, but that's all. He smiles weakly.] Quite a talent you've got there.

And yes. That's part of it.

[lamb_of_gold]

Try not to wrench it - the skin is closed but the flesh is still weak. I suggest you rest awhile...for both reasons.

[contract_star]

I was planning on it. [Pauses.] Mu, thank you.

[lamb_of_gold]

[Finally smiles.] You can thank me by taking care of yourself.

[contract_star]

[Chuckles a little.] I'm usually better at it than this.

[lamb_of_gold]

I've no doubt. If this wound is an indication, I think you wouldn't last long otherwise.

[contract_star]

Probably not. You learn fast, though.

[lamb_of_gold]

One generally does, when their life is at risk.

Is there anything else I can do for you?

[contract_star]

I think I just need to rest for a bit. Thank you, though.

[lamb_of_gold]

I will not contest that. You're welcome.

[contract_star]

[Smiles a little, but then it fades. He looks away from Mu and is silent for a long time.]

I'm sorry if I upset you the other day.

[lamb_of_gold]

[Shakes his head] It is I who should apologize for telling you so bluntly.

[contract_star]

[Long silence, thinking over what he's going to say.]

They'll bring him back, you know.

[lamb_of_gold]

I know. Perhaps that is why I'm so unhappy.

[contract_star]

He was upset when I told him. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. [Looks away.]

[lamb_of_gold]

It's....discomforting. We were raised being ready to die at a moments notice. Death is something we walk with - to fear it would be foolish. To be given a second, or even a third life...It simply doesn't sit well....


But I think, perhaps, he has another reason to be upset by it...but I don't feel at liberty to say, especially since it is only a thought I have.

[contract_star]

The Twins even take that away. [Pauses.] But I can't...think of it as entirely a bad thing.

[Gives Mu a careful look, but decides not to ask.]

[lamb_of_gold]

I suppose not, unless one is so inclined as to remain dead.

[contract_star]

[Silent for awhile again. He's also kind of starting to drift off.]

The war he mentioned. Is it going to happen in your world, too?
