Well. Long as I'm here, I may as well enjoy the lack of whining.

Is something the matter, Doctor?

Breakdown with the shuttle docking back at the station.

Is it serious, or simply annoying?

['pff'] End of the world, the way they're carrying on.

[laughs lightly] A good thing they have a Doctor to the rescue then.

Nah, I'm letting them sort it out. I've got bigger problems than maintenance.

[quirks and eyebrow] Such as?

This? All of it?

[...] Very well, I see your point. Still. There isn't much we can do about our current situation and we don't seem to be in danger. [makes a face] Anymore, at least.

But we could be. They've played around with us before.

[doesn't respond to that a while, expression hard and lips pressed tight, then nods, relaxing slightly] You don't suppose they have anything else planned, do you?

Dunno. [a pause] Probably. No hint as to what though.

[sighs] I dislike not knowing. It's one thing going into a situation blind, as you are wont to do. It's another entirely being trapped with no knowledge of what your captor intends.

I don't like it either. [he gives her a comforting sort of pat on the shoulder]

[blinks at him, then smiles softly] I shouldn't think you would. Being in one place has never suited either of us, has it?

No. We're meant to be travelers, you and I. Out among the stars, not just...walking on them.

[nods and reaches out to pet his cheek] I don't deny the beauty of this place, but ... it is not the same as actually being out there, no. I miss that freedom.

We'll have it again, I promise.
