[L shifts his gaze away, silent for a minute before answering. He knows B has seen his lifespan and knows his reason for asking.]

But then, not wanting to alarm L, he quickly rearranges his expression to normal. As it all happens in a second, he doesn't think he gave anything away, and now he's staring at him, perhaps intently, but basically normally. He composes himself for speech, doing his best to utilize his acting skills.] Does L want to know when it happens, or should B keep it to himself?

[L considers this; he hesitates momentarily before giving a slow nod. If he knows how much time he has left, perhaps there is a way he can calculate a way around avoiding what appeared to be the inevitable. Though, if his death was definitive, and set in stone...]
