003 [The Coward's Way]
[The woman that arrived on the Plane was not a warrior. She was a coward.
Her movements had once been graceful and fluid, but she crept across the starry ground with tense muscles and darting eyes. Although she had a knife at her belt, she could not have drawn it. Not without risking an injury. Her hands were trembling.]
I cannot stay here!
[But, at the same time, she could not return to the dangers of Gallifrey. To the war and the uncertainty and the fear that hovered in the air like smoke from a guttering fire.
She was trapped.]

[the Doctor isn't thinking about his current appearance when he hears Leela's cry and runs to her, his long scarf trailing behind him.]
It's--well, you see--[he frowns, letting out a little breath]--oh blimey, I'll explain in a minute. For now, tell me what's wrong. [a quick pause] ...Hold on a mo', can you see me? [of course, it could just be his voice--it is very distinctive after all, but it warrants asking] 
[it's the 'please' in that tone that catches his attention] All right, Leela, I will. [he puts a hand on her shoulder, hoping that might help reassure her] All right, I may look like the Doctor you once knew, but I haven't worn this face, been in this body, for centuries. I met you here once, but I was different. If you've heard of a tall, skinny Doctor in a pinstripe suit and sticky-uppy hair, that's me. That's what I'm really like now--well, not exactly at the mo' since I look like this, but I think it's to do with the Plane. Does that help at all?
