[Isaac is standing out in the middle of nowhere, hugging.....nothing. But the nothing seems to be a tad shorter than he is, and apparently, he has his head nestled into it's shoulder. There's a tension right through his body - he's trying not to cry.]

I...I missed you so much, Mum...I still have your catch beads!

[He 'lets go' for a heartbeat, to pull a small string of beads out of his pocket, but he looks up, and the expression that appears on his face could redefine 'heartbroken']

Mum? Where did you...

[Oliver catches sight of him and approaches, not sure whether to pull him from the fantasy or not. but then he sees that Isaac's come out of it, so he steps up toward him, tentatively. he isn't sure what to say] Hey... [almost asks if Isaac's okay, but...that would be a really dumb question]

Sorry, that... [frowns. he's not quite meeting Isaac's gaze, afraid that if he catches his feelings, he'll cry himself] It's cruel.

[Isaac shakes his head out, as if to clear it.]

Yeah, it is. I haven't seen Mum in at least a year, now...

[frowns. it's been a lot longer since he's seen his family, but Isaac's just a kid] You...think you'll see her soon?

I hope so. When Mars lighthouse was lit, all kinds of energy shot over to where Mt. Aleph was. We don't know what happened. The village might have been destroyed.

[Kaoru, unaware of Isaac's suffering, runs up to him with a huge grin on his face--and he's laughing, occasionally looking behind him] Hikaru, we're almost there!

Isaac! Just who I wanted to see. [he grins, glancing to his left, and links arms with his brother, Hikaru the hallucination.] I wanted to show you--hey, are you all right?

[takes another look to his left, smiling, before he looks back at Isaac.] Well, I think we can help you look for her! Maybe she disappeared suddenly. [he pauses while Hikaru chimes in with a suggestion] Or maybe--[to Kaoru, this is in unison]--she went home.

Hikaru, of course! [addresses his hallucination] Hikaru, this is Isaac. He's the one I told you about who was traveling to all these lighthouses and all that psynergy stuff.

[turns proudly to Isaac] And this--well, you can guess, huh? Ahhh, I feel a bit closer to home with Hikaru here...

[He's about to say that he can't see Hikaru, but he DID just see his mother...and he was so happy for that brief minute....]

Well, she's mum. She's the best cook in the world, and she hates to be taken are of, even when she's sick. [A bit of a chuckle] She's more stubborn than dad and I combined.
