Hello? Anyone home?

[Cordelia Chase's voice echoes through the empty shop. There is no storekeeper to greet her, no patrons in sight. Despite knowing better, Cordelia can't help herself. She lets the door swing shut behind hide her, small brass bell ringing with finality as it shuts. Like that, she finds herself on the Astral Plane.]

Okaaaaaay, this was a bad idea!

[She's backing up, hoping the door will bump her back. She could escape then, get back to Angel and warn him of this place.]

Cordelia, you knew better, what were you thinking?! [She scolds herself until her wide brown eyes really take in the gravity of the situation.]

Well crap. Just great. Stuck on some stupid plane, somewhere in some horrible dimension and no one even saw you go in!

[With a frown and crossed arms, she looks over the star scape. Cordelia is not impressed.]

Wesley you better use your giant dorky brain to figure this out and fast! I do NOT want to spend my days here with no salons, no boutiques, no aspirin, and no big broody boss hanging around to keep the creeps away!

[That's...huh. Okay, Jamie was not expecting that reaction, and looks just a touch puzzled by it before he continues.] Well, I've not seen any monsters in any of the places I've found the mergers. At least, not yet. I'd not be surprised if some did wind up there eventually, given how often I've run into one beastie or another when I'm with the Doctor.

Mostly it just seems to be places, but it might be different for the others. Ye would have to ask them. Oh! They do follow ye around, though. [He thinks this is important, for some reason. Probably because he didn't find out that they could do that until after the merger already happened.]

So why would all these evil beasties choose to attack this school ye mentioned? Is it some place important?

Well I wouldn't say it's important necessarily, but the mayor was an evil demon who'd corrupted most of the police force and was controlling the town to his own benefit? The monsters came up from the ancient Hellmouth our town was built over. They made great real estate choices with that, didn't they?

[Cordelia seems to take the mergers explanations in stride, nodding and accepting it almost as fact. She's obviously seen much weirder in her life. Or equally weird, if nothing else.]

So the information center... [She's already walking towards it] It's probably too much to expect there's a detailed way to get home, huh?

Oh. Well, when ye put it that way...no, I'd not say it was.

[Jamie follows, shrugging a little in response to her question.] Not unless they've changed the brochures recently. They both say the same thing about getting home.

[Speaking of which...] Look, I really should go, but if they've not changed anything, ye may want to see if ye can find Cardinal...er, Irving Braxiatel. Or the Doctor. They may be able to help ye figure out who else to talk to.

Well, thanks for the help. I'll put out a message or something to those other people. It'll be nice to get some more info.

[A woman on a mission, she's already heading for the brochures as they make their goodbyes.]

Aye. [Jamie nods, then shifts the box back to the way he was originally holding it when he first walked by.] Good luck.

[And with that, he drops from the Plane and vanishes from sight.]
