[you all remember that chunk of beach the Doctor dragged up to the astral plane, don't you? Of course you do! Well, he's standing at it. In the snow. Yes, there's snow. The water is still lapping up on the shore but the sandy beach is mixed with snow. Most of the snow is gathered around the palm trees. The trees themselves have multi-coloured orbs of light floating gently around them.

The Doctor, for the record, is in his blue suit with the long brown coat on and there's a set of wrapped Christmas-looking presents at his feet. He's humming lightly, hands shoved into his pockets, looking around occasionally as if waiting for someone]

[the Doctor isn't allowed to question other people's definitions of fun] How about we just say we're both incredibly brilliant?

[good point. and she is having way too much of it. she's begun drawing designs in the snow now covering his chest and arms, writing in Old High Gallifreyan just for kicks] I believe I can agree to that.

[Ugh, logic proofs. *peeks over your shoulder* Licking ... your legs? I suppose that's not worse than sniffing your armpits like my cats do, though]

[amused and really, it's a good thing the cold doesn't bug him too much] What are you writing?

[she'd probably not do it if it did, since she coddles him so] Hnnn? Oh, nothing much, dear Doctor~ [she is, however, a brat. and keeps writing~]

[Really? I almost wanna see it myself, then. Wonder if I could help. And I think all animals are weird in some way, shape, or form. We just got the particularly weird ones.]

[pouts and tries to sit up a bit to see] Go on, what is it? [old high Gallifreyan is hard to read upside down in the snow]

[awww, he shifted the snow a bit and ruined one of her words. now she has to pack on more snow and rewrite it] I was simply writing a description of you, that is all~ [you know, like 'pompous' and 'egotistical' and 'endearing' and 'mine,' things like that]

[Ooooh, sure! I found understanding the material I was struggling on meant more to me than finishing a specific problem, so hopefully you'll be able to do both. And I sporfled out loud at that because of the wording]

[you know you'd think he'd recognize these words, as I'm sure at least a few have been said to him recently, cough] Not sure if I see 'brilliant' and 'good looking'.

Very well. [adds them, as well as 'reckless' and 'loyal' and 'stubborn' and 'foppish' and she even sneaks in a 'badly dressed' because she's totally thinking of Six] Hnnn? And yes, of course. You don't agree?

[the Doctor mentally protests that. he's very well dressed, thank you.] I should hope I am. [reads carefully] 'Stubborn'? Well, yeah, but with good reason, I think. And...'pompous'? [pouts a bit] I'll give you that one but it's a Time Lord thing, you know. Even I can't avoid it.

[yeah, now maybe] I'd not love you as I do if you weren't, no. [keeps writing while he reads them off. she tossed a 'clueless' in, as well as a 'terrifying' and 'powerful' and 'smiling'] Now, Doctor. It's rather immature to blame your traits on your species. [smirks]

[*kicks them* My cats just try to kill each other]

[catches a few more, mostly just curious as to what she thinks about him] I dunno about that. Anyone coming from Gallifrey can't help it. It was like a special radiation. [decides to join in and doodles 'retro', 'strong' and 'constant' in the snow for her]

[finishes writing 'now' and 'forever' and 'love'] I come from Gallifrey, Doctor. Would you consider me pompous? Or is it Time Lord exclusive? [stops her own doodling to watch him, blinking curiously at his choice of words]

[teasingly] I think you've got some good old Time Lord thinking in you. [continues to doodle with 'blue', 'home', and 'finicky']

I am uncertain whether or not to take that as a compliment, Doctor. [watches him, then pouts] I am not finicky.

[beams, leans up and kisses her cheek] You are. But I like you the way you are! I haven't fixed the chameleon circuit for a reason.

[blushes a bit and ducks her head] It's a useless addition, anyway. Never did much care for it. And I've grown rather fond of my current shape. It reminds me of you.

[awww, blushing TARDIS] Gives me fond memories, too.

[only for the Doctor~ whom she's still sitting on, though she shifts a bit so both legs are hanging off one side, resting her arms on her knees and watching him curiously] Do they now? Like the time you tried fixing it? I don't think I spoke to you for a week after that. Or even when it broke originally. I think I was angry about it, then, but it's hard to remember now.

[he doesn't mind being ~~straddled~~ sat on. she's pretty light, so he looks comfortable enough] Well, to be fair on both accounts, I was a bit mad when I tried fixing it and I never meant to break it in the first place.

[she doesn't mind ~~straddling~~ sitting on him, either, though she has started brushing the snow off him] That regeneration was rather temperatmental, wasn't he? [smirks] You've calmed down in your old age, Doctor.

[he sits up a bit, supported by his elbows, though he's not trying to stand yet] You think so? Really? ...Well compared to that regeneration, I suppose any of me looks calm.

[leans over to rest her head on her knees, head tilted to look at him] That he was temperamental or that you've calmed down? Because I believe both, though I know little of this regeneration. Your Eighth, for all his energy, is quite a bit kinder than either your Sixth or Seventh, however. He's rather affectionate, really, though in a different way than you are. His is more of an assured affection. [strokes his cheek] Yours seems more desperate.

[looks at her quietly] I...was more confident back then, I think.
