[Oliver has clearly not been having a good time of it lately. by the look of him, he's recently been in a fight. with what, exactly, is anyone's guess, considering what the Plane is like at the moment. in any case, he has bruises under both eyes, with scratches and contusions on his cheeks and forehead. actually, any later Doctors might find his exact injuries uncannily familiar. they are, in fact, the very same injuries he had when the Doctor found him in an alley after he was unknowingly possessed by a particularly nasty brain worm known as the Puppeteer]

[at the moment, Oliver is wandering the edge of the forest. his hair is wild, and so are his eyes. his clothing is rumpled and streaked with dirt, and he has a very stormy expression on his face. he's glancing around as he walks, his eyes flicking from one direction to the next, muttering quietly to himself]

I thought I could--no, he thought he could escape. Or even fight me again. Hah! [laughs darkly] Like he could do that, broken as he is now. Idealistic fool. He lost before he even started. And now... [grins] Oh now, I just have to find someone, and it'll be worth every minute in this pathetic human body. [chuckles to himself, but the sound is callous, his face twisted into a very un-Oliver-like sneer] People are out here somewhere...

[ooc: Posting again because I have free time this weekend, and ~~Farrah is persuasive~~ I couldn't resist the hallucination plot! Unfortunately, Oliver's hallucinations have been too immersive for him. While he isn't physically possessed by the Puppeteer, he has experienced a hallucination of being possessed (complete with getting a little beat up, oops), and at the moment, he fully believes he is. He's even hearing its voice in his head. This means that, though he lacks the accompanying super-human strength and speed of an actual possession, he is currently unstable and ready to start killing. Be warned that he will attack others--in his clumsy, human way]

[Jamie makes a dismissive noise in the back of his throat.] Och, it's no bother. Besides, that thing makes it easy!

[The soup slowly rotates inside the microwave, just starting to steam a little as it cooks.]

What sort of food do ye have on Gondovan, anyway? It's not like those rations ye find in some emergency kits, I hope.

Ugh, no! I mean, it's not the best food--basically everything's imported. You can't really grow anything on Gondovan. But it's definitely better than that. I'm sure I could manage something you'd like. It'd be better than apples and cheese, at least!

[There's a hissing, popping noise from the general direction of the microwave, and Jamie turns towards it. Oh, there's still plenty of time on the timer. The soup should be fine, right?]

I like apples and cheese, but maybe something a wee bit more substantial might not be a bad idea. [wistfully] I don't suppose ye can get roast beef there?

Bet I could do, yeah!

[but he hears that popping and turns toward the microwave] Jamie...how much time did you put on that soup?

I wasn't sure how long it would take, so I set it for about thirty... [The hissing intensifies in volume and the soup starts boiling over the edges of the bowl. Jamie leaps up and quickly shuts it off, pressing the button to open the door and waving a large amount of steam away.]

Maybe I set it for a wee bit too long.

[raises an eyebrow. looks at the soup. looks at Jamie's face as he attempts to rescue the soup. bursts out laughing]

[Jamie, not surprisingly, pulls a face.] I don't know what you're laughing about. It's your dinner.

[There looks like there's still some soup in the bowl, though, so he goes to pull the bowl out. It is very, very hot, and there's a quick intake of breath. Not quite a hiss of pain, but close. Jamie pops his finger into his mouth...which may not help in terms of trying to stop any laughing that's going on.]

[is still laughing. it's a relief, after everything that just happened, to experience something so...normal] [between bursts of laughter] Careful with that! Grab a...a towel or something.

[Okay, it is pretty funny. After a few seconds, Jamie joins in.] Aye, that's a good idea.

[Calming down, he finds a towel. One over-microwaved bowl of soup is carefully placed in front of Oliver.] Remind me to use the stove next time.

Yeah, I'll be sure to. [lifts a spoonful of the soup, watching it steam horrendously] I think I'll just start with the bread for now. Cheers, Jamie!
