[John is standing in front of the library, the doors wide open for now. Behind him there is a small stack of food, certainly enough to feed a few people for a couple of days, and the way things are organized makes it clear that he's still working on gathering more of it. His torch and breathing mask have been set down on a table near by, and his gun remains tucked away safely in his pocket.

When he speaks, it's with a clear, authoritative tone; not so much as one who is used to taking charge, but someone who is used to making decisions when no one else will]

As far as any of us know, we're stuck here for a while; until we figure out who's made the decision, none of us can go home. I've begun gathering food and other supplies, and have yet to encounter....anything in the library. You're free to stay here for as long as needed, and any information at all would be welcome.

The more of us that work together, the sooner we can go home.

Perhaps if it were whisky. But a light fruit brandy seems particularly appropriate at present.

We're trying to figure out a way out of all of this. Perfect time for brandy, yes.

Why not? I'm sure you could do with a couple. Not many, but one or two.

[He hesitates, then sighs and nods] A couple couldn't hurt.

[Brax smiles, more to himself than to John, and strolls over to one of the side rooms, opening the door and pulling open a cupboard to reveal a bottle of kirsch. He holds it up for John] What do you say, Dr Watson?

[John takes the bottle, looking it over] I haven't seen one of these bottles in a while.

Your boyfriend hasn't been taking you to the right places. [Brax pulls out a couple of lowball glasses and pours some kirsch for them both, deftly handing John his. Braxiatel does this sort of thing quite a lot.]

[With a low groan that shows he's far too used to denying this] He's not my boyfriend. He's my flatmate.

[blinking at John] Sorry, it was a general statement. Curious that you jumped to think of Sherlock.
