[Sawako stands at the stove in the kitchen, happily stirring a pot of curry. There are various serving plates and bowls with different foods lined up along the counter buffet-style. She's humming to herself too, and there might even be sparkles and bubbles. And hexagons and diamonds, for whatever reason. She gives it one more stir, before turning the burner off and leaving the spoon on a plate to her left. She pours the curry into a large bowl and places it on the counter with the other food.]

[Straightening her skirt out, she addresses the Plane at large, since it's better to announce yourself so people know you're looking to talk]

I - I made some food in case anyone is hungry. There's some curry and some soup and some rice and meat and vegetables, too. There's also cake that will be ready soon. Since we're all in this together, we should do our best to help each other out.

[she shifts a little, looking down at one of the plates, before looking up again]

Also, if - if anyone has been asked any strange questions or can say anything about their lives before everyone became stuck here, I'd really like to hear about it. I'd - I'd like that a lot.

[She ladles herself a bowl of soup, and then sits at the table, waiting for anyone to join if they like, and eating by herself if they don't. Beside her is a notepad and pen. Her hand tenses nervously around the spoon, as she keeps her eyes focused on her bowl of soup.]

And - and you haven't had a chance to speak to her since then?

[Pause.] ...I'm not sure that would be wise.

Why not?

I don't think she'll be willing to speak with me.

But if you haven't tried, then you can't know.

I'm fairly certain this all falls under 'not good,' really.

Why?

What makes it so complicated?

Well! [He pauses. It is a bit odd to explain.] Molly had an attraction to me and dated a man as a way of both moving on and seeming desirable to me at the same time. However, my analysis showed the man was gay and so I told her so in order to spare her heartbreak, as it would be worse if she realised this further into the relationship. Apparently, she found this very unkind. However, shortly after I discovered the man was actually Moriarty, who has taken it upon himself to be my worthy rival as a criminal mastermind. He very nearly killed John and myself. [Another pause.] So I'm not really sure how one deals with that.

[she considers this all carefully]

I - I don't think not talking to her will fix it. Even if you did the right thing by telling her Moriarty-san wasn't interested in her that way, she still must be in a lot of pain.

If she loved Moriarty-san, she probably always wanted to think the best about him, so it must hurt to find out that he's a dangerous person and that he couldn't love her the way she wanted. She probably needs a friend right now.

[He puts his elbow on the counter, head resting in his hand.]

It is further complicated by the fact that she was hoping that Moriarty would make me realise some sort of feelings for her and so in the end he was more interested in me. Not her.

[she mimics his posture as she considers this]

Have you told her outright that you're not interested in her that way?

I made it quite obvious. Though considering her boyfriend went on a crime-spree to get my attention, I doubt she has any feelings leftover.

No feelings leftover for you or for Moriarty-san?

Both, I would think. It wouldn't be annoying if it weren't for the fact that I need access to the morgue and she works there.

I think - I think you should probably talk to her, make your feelings clear so she can't be confused or have false hope, and then do your best to work together in the future.

She might get bitter and not let me examine the bodies.

That - that would be very unprofessional. Is she that sort of person?

People can be very irrational once emotions are involved. Spite is a powerful one.

Hm. But you were willing to tell her that Moriarty-san couldn't like her that way. You - you didn't care about spite then, so why can't you tell her the same thing about your own feelings?

I was attempting an act of kindness.

So wouldn't it be kind to tell her your feelings, too?

The first act was unwelcome.

You said she thought it was unkind when you told her. Did you learn any lessons from the way you told her before that might make it easier for you to tell her this time?
