[during the current crisis, Oliver has taken shelter in the Plane's library. he is reclining in a comfortable chair, with a book on the floor in front of him--upside-down and open, as though it's slipped off his lap. he is just stirring from sleep, and sits up, causing the back of the chair to come up with him. he shakes his head, looking about groggily for an instant--then, instantly, he's on edge. he looks slowly around the room, contemplating it warily] Hey, is someone...? ...no.

[slowly, he reaches down to retrieve his book--something on Greek and Roman mythology, for the curious. but he's still stiff and edgy, glancing around him before he turns his gaze downward, flipping back to his page previous page. but instead of reading, he looks up again, tense] Who-who's there? I hear you!

[Kuhn was looking for something to take his mind off being stuck, and pretty much jumps out of his skin when Oliver wakes up and makes all of that noise. He turns to him, a little wide-eyed, and puts both hands in the air.]

Wh-Whoa, hey, I was just-- I mean, I'm not--... I'm sorry?

[stares at Kuhn, just as startled] I...no, sorry! I thought... [shakes his head, trying for a sheepish smile, but it's a bit forced] Sorry. You...surprised me. Are you new here?

[hesitantly, and rather on edge himself] ...Oliver? It's just me, Damon. Are you alright?

[Braxiatel was walking over to the theatre section, but he pauses at Oliver's alarm.]

Nothing to worry about Oliver. It's only me. You can go back to sleep, I won't disturb you. I was only picking up a book on 19th century pantomime.

[blinks] Kuhn!? But... [pauses, frowning, but that voice is Kuhn's. he knows it is] Did something...happen? [that must be an experiment, right?]

[oliverplus]

Huh? Oh, hey, Da-[but his friendly tone disappears as he looks over at his friend, his expression turning to one of shock]-mon. Damon!? What... [stares]

[worried] What's wrong, Oliver?

Irving! [relaxes at the voice] No, I was just... [but he trails off as he looks at Brax, his expression horrified]

Other than us being stuck here? No, not really. [He shakes his head, but then gives Oliver a worried look.]

Hey... is something wrong?

Y-your face. Are... [swallows hard, unable to take his eyes from what he's seeing as Damon's face] Are you okay?

[Braxiatel's response is very calm and very mild.] That's hardly a look to greet a friend with.

[oliverplus]

You... [shakes his head as if to clear it, but nothing changes] You don't look like you.

[oliverplus]

[stands abruptly, the book falling from his lap, but he's not paying any attention to it. he moves as if to approach, but hesitates] God, Irving! Are you... What did they... [but he can't seem to do much but stare in frightened horror]

[Braxiatel looks at his hands, just to check.] As far as I can discern, no one has done anything to me. Aside from trap me on an infinite plane and, all things considered, there are worse prisons. Like secondary schools.

[he reaches up, touching his face, then frowns] Oliver, there isn't anything wrong with my face, I'm fine. What do you see?

Wh-what!? But... [reaches out, very gingerly, to tap Brax's arm, as if terrified of what the slightest touch might do]

[Braxiatel lifts an eyebrow, but he allows it.] Yes, I know it's a little below my usual standards, but I've been borrowing from the ballroom.

[oliverplus]

It's...changing. [shakes his head as though to clear it, but Damon still looks just the same--or rather, he doesn't, which is the problem. licks his lips nervously] You're sure it's not?

[oliverplus]

[pulls his hand back, startled by Brax's voice--or maybe startled because he was expecting something else. closes his eyes, shaking his head to clear it] What are you wearing?

[nods] Positive. Someone is playing tricks on your mind.

[oliverplus]

You mean this place is... [sighs and closes his eyes to escape the sight]

Then...nothing's happened to you yet? [his tone is hopeful when he asks that, at least]

A Gieves & Hawkes, I believe. Why do you ask?

[oliverplus]

[keeps his eyes closed] I'm...I'm not seeing you. [or maybe he is, but that's such a disturbing thought that he chases it away]

[collector]

Is that so? [Braxiatel keeps his tone of calm control.] What are you seeing, Oliver?
