A detective and a doctor walk into a bar...
[Sherlock has been reading through the information provided at the kiosk with John, though it hasn’t taken him long to get through it all. Mostly he’s simply lapsed into thought as he is wont to do. After a long moment, he opens his eyes and sighs.] Those were rather useless. What do you make of it?
[It takes John a few moments longer to finish reading through it all, glancing up at Sherlock once he’s finished] We know how to get back home; that’s something. What I’d like to know is where ‘here’ is, exactly.
[He sighs and slips his hands into his pockets.] There is the problem that we’re expected to take this as truth.
[There’s a pause, followed by a soft groan as he shuts his eyes] Please don’t start. I don’t need you questioning my existence.
[Mildly.] I believe at the moment anything is fair game to question.
[He throws him a look] Stop it.
[Sherlock’s lips twitch.] Tell me your theory, John.
[He looks around him for a few moments, then back at the brochures before muttering] Some crazy dream would be my choice.
Then you’re questioning my existence. [He can’t help glancing around.] It’s very nice, though. You have good taste in hallucinations.
[Mildly] Or maybe a drug trip on your part. Wouldn’t that be lovely?
((ooc: Multiple threads, blah blah I decided they would be Christmas colours because I could. Perhaps thread hopping, who knows, double intro things!!))

Please - please don't worry about this being a dream. I assure you this is all very, very, very real~
no subject
That isn't very convincing, is it? What proof is there?

He wears a well-kept, clean uniform, comfortable and natural like a second skin. No jewellery of any kind except for the outline of something under one of his gloves, and he keeps one (gloved, of course) hand in his pockets. Red eyes, of course, very sharp, hair neat and clean despite the length. Despite the hand in his pocket, he doesn't slouch. No cologne of any sort, no ink marks, but there's a bit on the finger of his gloves where something stained, was bleached out, and then dyed over again - the dye is just a little lighter. There is also some new threadwork there, as if it was a little eaten away. There is some dust and dirt on his boots, and if one managed to get a microscope down there, they would find some fabric from a very fine carpet. There is also a completely disregarded blond hair on his right arm.
(And Pacman is his belt buckle.)
Also, Jade is carrying a scythe over his shoulder. It is bloodless, but from the edge of the blade, there are enough nicks and unevenness to suggest that it has been used and sharpened more than once.]
What coherent hallucinations you both must have.

Either of them may note that he slips into his military pose then, the only sign of alert] Not particularly. And who might you be?

I would say you've broken any logical pattern. You must have a higher rank.

puppyTime Lord, who is obviously older than he appears] It isn't a dream, and you haven't been drugged. [he almost adds a "yet," but doesn't want to scare them off][politely] Welcome to the Astral Plane, I'm Damon. It's a pleasure to meet you both.

Since both Sherlock and John are familiar with guns, either one or both of them may notice the faint outline of Narvin's staser tucked into his pocket. He's holding his datapad in one hand, and the article currently on the screen isn't in any recognisable Earth language.]
We should be so lucky.

[He smiles a calm and practised smile, warm and distant at once, and though the amount of shirtsleeve showing under his jacket is perfectly measured, he lifts a hand to the wrist as if to correct the distance - a slight of hand that really doesn't change it at all.]
If you want to get into questioning your ontological status, might I suggest the library? It is much quieter, offers tea and coffee, and [here his eyes flicker to John before he looks at them both] gives good defensible grounds for those with battle-won paranoia.

Paranoia is often justified in situations like these.
