[It's probably a hallucination; that's the only explanation Zack can come up with as he looks around at his new surroundings. It's not the lab, or the transparent green of a mako pod, or even the forest outside of town. Instead he sees... space.]

[Nice and coherent, there. But since when did this happen? He can sort of remember a dream, but dreams have never been reality. And what about-]

Cloud? Cloud, where are you? Cloud! [...Nothing.] Is this some kind of joke? Hey! This isn't funny...!

[Aaaand he's walking. Through space.

[Zack immediately perks up at that, gesturing for Cloud to lead the way.]

Right! That's a great idea- I haven't had a drink in forever.

[Lead the way Cloud does.

He does feel just a tad awkward though. How familiar should he be with Zack? Should he try and pretend, or let him know straight out that he barely remembered him? He should probably feel worse than he did about the whole situation, but how could he? Zack was nearly a complete stranger.

A stranger that died for him.

Cloud drags a hand through his hair and searches frantically for a topic of conversation. Maybe if he hears something he should know he'll remember.]

Sssso, um...refresh my memory. When did we meet again?

[Zack glances sidelong at Cloud, lifting a brow.] I guess your memory really is fuzzy, huh? Well, mako can do that, so I don't blame you. We met close to Modeoheim! It was our first mission together. The helicopter crashed, so we had to walk to the mission site. You seemed right at home out in the middle of nowhere, just like me!

[Cloud waits anxiously for any of that to register-
