[Daisuke appears on the Astral Plane rather unceremoniously. Apparently he was in the middle of walking, because as soon as he takes another step he just... FALLS. And it’s not like he tripped over anything. He just ceased to defy gravity. Anyway, with that Dojikko-flavored stunt he's left faceplanting in the middle of a snowdrift, with his books and binders scattered around him. Pencils, a bendy ruler and all of his cute little animu erasers are lost to the endless black starry floor of the Plane as well.]
Mmmphhh... [He lifts his head out of the snow and spits out... whatever that was. This snow is obviously misplaced in addition to being stained a disgusting oily-sparkly-black-brown.] ... Snow? But it was sunny. [He sits up and dusts himself off, then realizes he's not in Azumano anymore. He’s a little slow on the uptake, okay? But the point is, he's here now, so it's time to—
—scream a bit! Just a little bit!] What happened to Azumano? ... What happened to the ground?! How— how bad did I fall?!
... This is bad. Where did I end up this time? [SIIIIIGH.]

[He continues to shove things in his bag until he can't see anything else he lost, then he manages to stand up.]
... How did I get here, anyway?
no subject
I haven't come up with a solid theory about arrivals here but all I know is that anyone coming and going is because of the Twins and the Meredith person who run this... experiment. It is my understanding that it's because of them we are here.
[Shrugs] But I could be wrong.

[He looks around again.]
... Come to think of it, the inside of the shop looked a lot like this.

And then realizes, belatedly, that a six year old just explained the multi-verse to him.]
... You're not from Azumano, are you?
no subject
No. [Her expression suddenly turned thoughtful, now studying the red-haired boy for a moment before adding--] Are you a friend of Hiwatari-kun?
no subject
Ah, yeah! Hiwatari-san is— well, it's sort of complicated, but I'm his friend.
[... Let that percolate for a minute.]
He's here?! B-but he never said anything! [But...] Of course he wouldn't say anything... I should have noticed! But... But maybe I couldn't notice at the time because no one ever does...
[brb sulking]

It isn't usually discussed outside of here, if only to avoid confusing others or to attract unwanted attention from anyone who may be listening. [And attention is the LAST thing that she wants.]
But now that you're here it's something you can bring up with him to discuss. I'm sure he would be able to answer your questions more extensively than I.

Thanks anyway.

[Comfort was never her forte but at least she's trying? Then she holds out her hand to him.] My name is Haibara Ai.

... So how the hell does someone like this befriend Satoshi?]
no subject
[... That is a mystery that shall forever boggle the minds of many.]
no subject
Ahh... How long has this place been around? Or is that hard to judge?

[He realizes he's thinking out loud and backpedals a bit.]
N-not that I'm an expert or anything! I'm just saying, there has to be more under the surface. Even deeper than the "machine" thing.
