[Naminé has been sitting with her egg -- a pale purple one with silvery patterings and tracings over it -- and watching it carefully for any signs that it may hatch. She has it wrapped in a bright pink blanket, situated on top of a large down pillow. It must have been the perfect setup, because pretty soon, it starts to crack open a bit... She gasps, eyes wide, and crawls toward it on her hands and knees in order to watch it from even closer up. When it wiggles enough to nearly topple over, she quickly picks it up and places it in her lap.

Slowly but surely, a lizard-like head pokes its way out, a bit of shell stuck on its snout. The creature is a white-silvery color with a lavender sheen to it when the light hits its scales a particular way. And, with a happy chirp, it opens its pale blue eyes and pops the rest of the way out to reveal a set of beautiful wings. ... and then it manages to roll onto the "floor".

Naminé giggles and bends down to remove the last bit of shell stuck to the little lizard's skin, smiling more than she has in a very long time.]

It's so beautiful...!


((OoC: Nami gets a fire lizard, ala McCaffrey. Only not a McCaffrey color at all. XD! It's not going to get any bigger than like two feet from snout to tail, and really it's just there to be cute and mystical at the exact same time. ♥))

[The little fire lizard rolls around a few times, then begins busying itself with discovering its own wings and chirping at them every so often.

Naminé looks up at Mu with a smile.]

It is pretty, isn't it? [A pause, then a tiny giggle from behind one hand.] It matches your hair sort of, Mu.

[He leans down to scratch under it's chin]

[It's not really sure what Mu's doing, but that does feel nice, so it lets him keep right on doing it. It makes a clicking noise in the back of its throat, that sounds rather happy. You know, as happy as a series of clicks could sound.]

I think it likes you.

It seems so.

[A beat, then to the lizard,] Go see your mother [he nods his head towards Naminé]

[It probably didn't process the words, exactly, but it knows Naminé when it glances that way and begins bounding toward her.

She laughs and picks it up, letting it rest in her hands cupped together. She looks up at Mu.] This is all so incredible... [She glances at his partially cracked egg.] What about yours? Has it...?

It's coming along. I'm not about to rush the little one inside.

[She nods] Yes, that's what they taught us in school once. It's not good to help it crack open the egg, no matter how much you want to. They didn't exactly say why, though.

I'd imagine it's so one does not hurt the hatchling.

I suppose, but in that case, what if you're exceedingly careful?

[Meanwhile, the fire lizard is curling up, resting its head on top of its tail and looking almost as though it's going to fall asleep.]

If a life is meant to be, then it will be, regardless of any assistance we do or do not provide.

[That's his way of saying 'Just don't.']

[She considers that, and nods.]

You're right. [She glances down at her fire lizard.]

Hey, Mu? ... Is everything on the Plane okay again?

[Axel's already hatched. There's a fluffy gold chick that occasionally flares up in blue and red flames sitting in his hair, and he doesn't seem to mind. It's asleep, though.]

Aww, how cute. It'd better not try to eat mine, though.

[Naminé is about to protest the very idea of it eating Axel's new pet, but then she actually sees the baby bird asleep up in his hair.

She goes wide-eyed all over again, grinning, and points to it.]

Axel, it's adorable! Oh, how cute...!

[Girl-sees-cute-thing mode is entirely go.]

[ajlk;ajsklaf;l. Axel actually blushes a bit.] You like him? I think we're gonna be good friends. [The little phoenix chick peeps and opens its beady little eyes, nests into the spikes a bit more, then looks at Naminé.]

You want to hold him?

Sure, if... you think he would let me?

[In the meanwhile, Axel, have a fire lizard sniffing at your shoe. Because at the moment, your shoe seems more interesting than its own wings.]

Yeah, it's fine. [The phoenix chick peeps again as Axel reaches up to gently detach it from his hair. It's so warm and tiny and fluffy in Axel's big hands. It lifts its wing to preen at an itch, and a multi-colored spurt of translucent tail feathers can be seen.] There ya go. He won't burn you, I promise. I don't think he can burn anything, actually; I wonder if the sparks are just for show.

[She giggles a bit as she holds out her hand for the little chick to hop into.]

I'm not scared. [She glances down at her fire lizard.] Do... you think mine will breathe fire? I mean, it is a dragon, isn't it?

[Axel hands it over carefully. The phoenix chick peeps again, then fluffs up and tucks its head under a wing. Apparently it's comfortable.]

Hmm... I dunno. Right now, I doubt it could even keep your feet warm. If he gets any bigger though, he might.

We need to think of names for them, don't we?

[The fire lizard pokes at Axel's shoe with its snout, then decides it looks like a comfy place to rest its head and literally flops down on top of it like its legs just suddenly gave out or something.]

Huh. I guess we do. I haven't really thought of one yet... I figure it'll jump out at me when it's the right one. [He glances down at the fire lizard, finally. ... That's cute. He can't resist a bit of a smile.] I guess these big feet are good for somethin'.

[She smiles up at Kyouya, but only after she's made sure that the lizard isn't going to hurt itself by rolling around on the floor and finally figuring out it has wings. She blushes a little at the compliment.]

Th-Thank you, Kyouya. Did you take one of the eggs?

[He smiles at her too.] Yes, though it hasn't hatched yet. The variety of animals appearing here is interesting.

[She stands, picking up the fire lizard. It's still just small enough to fit in her cupped hands. It begins spinning in a circle, the way a puppy does just before it settles down to sleep] What else have you seen?

Most I saw only in passing. A possum, a dog, an odd reddish bird, and... [He takes a moment to think of how to describe what Sefton got.] An electric rodent.

A possum and a dog? Out of an egg? How strange! [Pause] An... electric rodent? What do you mean?

[Kyouya, there's a mini-dragon staring at you with its head tilted. Just FYI.]

[As long as it doesn't bite. He thinks this one would be profitable if brought into an event as well.] It was a small creature resembling a caricature of a mouse, but it was yellow and black, and it produced electricity.

A mouse that produces electricity... what kind of world is that from, I wonder? I hope it doesn't shock its owner...

It seems very fond of him, so I'm sure they'll be fine. I believe it sees him as a parent.

[Meanwhile, the fire lizard is still tumbling around, trying to figure out what it means to move. Which, of course, also involves learning to not trip over its own wings. It's having a little bit of difficulty with that one...]

I am not sure. I have never seen an egg this color. Although judging by this little one, it might prove to be anything. [He's not even sure why he bothered to take an egg in the first place. It just seemed like something he should do.]

[He kneels to take a closer look at the fire lizard. It is kind of cute..]
