[In the aftermath of the deathmatches and the grand finale of it all, we still have the Twins. They're on the Plane now and feeling rather remorseful, holding hands and dressed in just low-key white jumpsuits that match their porcelain skin. Behind them, however, is something of great interest.

It is a massive nest, somewhat of a magpie nest with branches and ribbons and shiny objects all stuck in it. Inside this nest are dozens of strange eggs. There are enough eggs that everyone could have one. They are all as unique as you can imagine and warm with life.

After a moment, the Twins speak in unison as usual, though it's much more subdued.]

We're really, really sorry. We didn't know that would happen. We would have stopped it if we could have.

[They move to the side and nod at the nest.] These recently came through in the debris the Machine washes up sometimes. We can't take care of them. But we read somewhere that sometimes people feel happier when they can take care of something. These eggs will die otherwise. [They hesitate.] We hope they are born into something that makes you happy.

[Then the Twins bow and take seats next to the nest, mostly just watching it.]



((ooc: Here's your present! And here's the details and rules.
1) Everyone gets one egg!
2) You need to hatch it. It can take as long or as short to hatch as you want, so have fun with it.
3) It can be almost any sort of creature. Want your character to get a pokemon? Sure! Want them to get a dolphin? Why not! A unicorn? Yes! A giant squid? Okay! A jabberwocky? Okay you're weird but sure. Pegasus, kappas, nifflers, whatever!
4) The only rule is they can't be sentient. So animal level intelligence more or less. Sorry, no digimon.
5) They are real. You can keep them here or off the Plane but they are yours to have and cherish.
6) Feel free to talk to the Twins if you want!
7) Any other questions can be asked on the mod post! Have fun.

[They look up at him and frown.]

Someone stronger than us. [They reach out and tug on his sleeve.] Sam, you'll take care of one, right? Please? We don't want them to die.

[Tamaki doesn't want to focus on why they are getting these eggs, so he will not. Instead he's just sitting down in front of the nest, inspecting the eggs, and trying to pick out which one he wants. He occasionally picks one or two up, debating between them before returning them to the nest, repeating this process a few times over.]

[They smile at him and encourage him.]

And she picks out a lovely purple one, seemingly at random (naturally, it isn't) and very gently sets it down in her lap, running her fingers over it every so often. Apparently, whatever it is doesn't need to be hatched to be petted.]

[They nod, half-ashamed and half-embarrassed.] We drew the attention of bad people.

[Then they brighten up.] We don't know. But we don't think anything bad will come out. We scanned them and it seems they're safe.

The Doctor says you have some EXPLAINING TO DO. While she's talking, she scoops up an egg for absent-minded inspection.]

You know, I think we need to have a talk. What was all that? Why couldn't you stop it? And what do you mean. the Machine washed it - oh!

[IT'S OKAY TWINS. You've been rescued by her egg unexpectedly cracking open. Luckily, the Doctor has the presence of mind to keep hold of it, so it doesn't go smashing to the ground before a teeny nose pokes out, followed by a border collie puppy head, who is immediately SUPER-EXCITED TO BE HERE AND LICK EVERYTHING!! 'Everything' here defined as the Doctor's hand.]

Oh, bugger.

[The Twins ADD easily and bounce up to look.]

[Axel has, understandably, been avoiding everyone since the Deathmatch happened. He was there to provide cover fire, but after that he fled again. Needless to say (but saying anyway), nothing has been getting done in his and Roxas' reality for a little while.]

So... let me get this straight. We go through hell and the only thing you can do to make it better is give us eggs?

Why shouldn't we make scrambled eggs out of you?!

[They shake their heads.] We wanted to stop it. We really, really did. But they're stronger than us. We can't do anything compared to them. We could only hope you all won.

[They look back at the nest.] They're all homeless. We can't raise them. A lot of people died... We wanted life instead.

[Emil isn't visibly FURIOUS, but he is upset. One of his best friends died to the Deathmatches and he almost lost Marta. A fist clenches at his side.]

I'm really, really mad right now. But we stopped it, and that's the important thing. And... and you brought me back, too. So I do owe you that.

[He takes a deep breath.]

What do you know about the people who were behind this? I don't want to deal with anything like that ever again.

[They nod and stand, bowing to him.]

We're really sorry. We know it's not enough... but we thought life was better than nothing.

[Then they sit again.]

The people behind this think death is better. We revive people because we don't want people to die. We even made a heaven for people who would rather stay dead, so they can be happy. But the other people...they think it would be better if all of us were dead and gone.

We don't know... But we should have been able to somehow.

[Narvin appears silently and suddenly, a habit found mostly in weasels and civil servants. The nest of eggs garners a distinctly dubious look.]

Are you seriously considering taking even one of these things?

[he glances from the pile of eggs to the Twins, for a moment debating whether to tell them off for not trying harder or to just let it go. with a sigh, he goes with the latter. at least it's all done.]

Sorry, but 'debris that comes through the Machine'? How does that work? How can you consider these debris?

[begins inspecting the eggs for one that appeals to him]

[They watch him curiously.]

They aren't things we can help here. They come through on their own. But that's why it's good that you guys can have them, right?

[After his chat with Sam, the Doctor drops off the Plane -- returning with two chocolate lollipops for the Twins, since he remembers that they like them] There's no need to apologise, yeah? Wasn't your fault, and it's all sorted now. Well, mostly.

[They both brighten up and stand, taking the lollipops happily.]

We still should! Sam says you should apologise for things that are wrong.

Damn. I wanted to make an omelet.

[He grabs one of the eggs, turning it over in one hand.]

[They smile anyway.]

We could get you one if you wanted. But there's probably an egg that wants you, too.

[as he approaches, he looks the Twins in the eyes, wondering if he'll be able to feel whether or not their apology is genuine. he feels a pang of guilt for his suspicions, but he checks anyway]

[worriedly] How did it happen if it wasn't you?

[They tilt their heads.] We're not the only people that can reach this place. Even if it was ours first! They all want it. And we can't remember how it works anymore...

Aye, well. [He wants to be mad, furious even, but the Twins are making that very difficult - so he just winds up pulling a face before taking a quick peek at the eggs. After a moment, he looks back up.]

Could ye have not at least warned us what was going to happen once ye found out?

[They pout slightly.] We didn't even realise until a few matches in... And by then it felt like we were the only ones who didn't know! [But then they smile.] You'll take an egg, right?

[Wow, these guys look honestly sorry. Strange... he always thought the Twins were the ones who were up to no good. His perception, it is breaking! Moreso than usual, anyway. He's still plenty pissed off that any of this happened at all, and not 100% sure that this means the Twins aren't really such bad people, but it looks like he's got some thinking to do.

So, his anger at them dissipated (for the time being, anyway), he approaches with a concerned frown instead.]

So, what, there's a power greater than you around here? I always just kind of thought you and the woman were... it, really.

[He also can't help that his eyes keep flicking toward the eggs every so often. Because that's a lotta eggs, good God.]

[They shake their heads.]

We're not very strong! We're pretty normal... The best thing we have going for us is that we can't really age. That's all. [They look curious.] Will you take an egg too?

[Sebastian and his loyal henchfriend appear. Sebastian, having been mortally wounded playing croquet, is of course in his wicker wheelchair. That's why he must have Charles to push him around.]

[he just stares at them for a moment, before, slowly, he nods; he approaches the nest before kneeling down, hands ghosting over one of the eggs as he whispers] It would be nice...to be able to protect something.
