[Oliver is sitting by his favourite tree in the forest, staring down at a letter that his grip is spectacularly creasing. he looks very upset, which is strange, as Oliver's experiment had kept him from independent emotion for more than a week. luckily for him, the experiment is finally over. which should, of course, be a very happy thing indeed!]

[unfortunately, while he's super-excited to be able to see colour again, that excitement has been rather demolished by the emotional impact of just what he's been up to recently--especially in terms of what he's shared with people. not to mention things he agreed to without thinking. he's not sure what to say to some people after all that. and then to compound it all, he had to receive this letter...]

[Oliver sighs, lost in thought. too lost in thought to notice anyone approaching him, in fact. clearly, this means that's exactly what someone should do]

[blinks. then stares. the Doctor told him about her, but he wasn't sure he could believe it] Really? I mean, really really? You're actually the TARDIS? [even as he asks, he knows it's true. she just...looks like it, somehow. or feels like it, maybe]

N-no, 'course not! Just... [smiles] Well, I never thought I'd see you like this!

[frowns] Not because of you! I really am glad to see you. I've just...had some stuff happening lately.

[makes a face] An experiment. But it's over now!

It's...hard to explain. It messed with my head. And I couldn't colour anymore.

[it's a good thing he trusts you, TARDIS. frowns, trying to work out how to describe it] Well, other than not seeing any colours, it was like...I don't know. [scratches his head] I couldn't think clearly. I just went with whatever came to mind first, and I was always certain. Like...everything was one way or the other, even if I probably shouldn't've been sure. And I wasn't feeling right, either. Like...most of the time, I wasn't feeling anything at all. And then somebody'd say something, and I'd react like it was the best--or worst--thing in the world. I still don't really get it. I couldn't think straight at all.

How fascinating. So you had no will of your own? No opinion? Did you still retain your memories, or were you devoid of past experience?

It wasn't that exactly. I still remembered who I was. But yeah, like I didn't have any specific opinions. Like I was some sort machine. Oh, no offense! I mean, a mechanical one--not like you. Like, if I trusted somebody, and they asked me for something, I'd give it to them because I trusted them. I couldn't...question anything. Does that make sense? Everything was black and white.
