(no subject)

[Narvin, when not fighting the war in his own reality, has been keeping himself busy by exploring the Plane. Ostensibly, it’s for curiosity's sake -- in reality, he’s been examining various areas on the Plane for his own ends; perhaps as a future location for a cache of weapons, or perhaps just to know which areas of the Plane are most heavily frequented.]

[Today, however, the Coordinator has brought his work with him, in the form of a slightly battered datapad. Narvin himself appears worn, tired, and a bit dusty -- the Vaults aren’t exactly the cleanest place on Gallifrey.

[A familiar flash of silver catches Narvin’s eye, however, and he pauses, curious, then steps over to the Kadenwood tree that Straxus planted months back.]

Now how did you get here?

[But the tree is not likely to answer him, so Narvin just shakes his head, sitting at the base of it. It’s a pleasant enough place to do his work, and this little piece of home makes for good motivation -- he hasn’t seen a Kadenwood tree in weeks.]

[Still, it doesn’t take long for Narvin’s exhaustion to catch up with him, despite his stubborn, paranoid refusal to sleep. He stifles a yawn and sets the datapad down, fighting drowsiness. It’s a losing battle, however, and he dozes off, one hand resting on the staser at his side.]

[[Enjoy your sleep-deprived Coordinator, Plane residents. Don't worry, he won't kill anyone with that staser. Narvin's paranoid, but not stupid, so it's set to stun. :) ]]

[Braxiatel pinches the bridge of his nose. In his best, driest voice,] Vampires. Vampires in the Capitol. Do get up.

[Damon vaguely recognises the outfit as CIA, but he isn't bothered by the fact. Instead, he drops off the Plane and returns with a light blanket and a book. He carefully drapes the blanket over the Coordinator, then sits nearby to make sure nobody disturbs him read.]

[Argentine is really just here to admire the tree but there's a non-human thing under it.

So he'll just crouch down next to Narvin and stare at him while Narvin sleeps. His robes look so terrible. This is a point of concern.]

So I should have just left you sleeping? I'd have thought you'd appreciate not being left less-than-conscious in a public space. I know paranoia is your strongest feature.

[See, Narvin? He does it because he cares!]

[she clears her throat loudly enough to wake him, staring down at him amused]

[Have a tired President standing over him, obviously torn between chuckling and nudging him awake.

Let's go with the chuckling, shall we?]

[blinks, not expecting to be recognised, then nods] I'm sorry if I woke you. I simply thought you could use the extra comfort.

[Nine is just confused. He can't figure out why the very sight of you annoys him, Narvin. So he's going to pull an Argentine, and stare at you while you sleep.]

Somehow I doubt that you chose to fall to sleep in an open space under a bright, shining marker. I'd recommend an upper floor of the library. They have more comfortable furniture, too. Coffee?

[she is still amused, perhaps more so in the face of his irritation]

I feel there is a fairly easy joke to be made here about civil servants, bureaucracy and sleeping on the job. But as I'm not one to go for the easy punchline, I'll let it pass.

Is there any particular reason you're sleeping under a tree clutching to that there? [her head tilts to indicate his staser.]

[Argentine blinks slowly at him, unmoving and not at all threatened.]

Your manner of dress is atrocious.

But it's always nice to affirm that you can. This way. [Does he mean to the coffee or to the library? It doesn't matter, he's walking. And he glances over to Narvin with a mild expression as he does.] Have you spoken to the Madame President lately?

[Nine is going to prod you until you wake up, just to spite you back :|]

[Oh living beings and their moods.]

You can be practical without forsaking aesthetic pleasure. Would you prefer new clothes?
