[In his wanderings and exploration of the plane, Yuan comes across a miniature black hole. The sign beside it requests that no one drop anything into it.

This is entirely too much for a mischievous demon to ignore, and so he pops off the plane for a moment, and returns with a large handful of various sundry office supplies. With a wicked smirk, he drops a paperclip into the hole, and watches it disappear.]

...Okay, that? That is cool.

[So he's going to continue to feed it pens and paperclips until a) someone stops him, or b) he gets bored of going back for more.]

[Mischief, meet maker.

He's a few feet behind Yuan, covering his own face, obviously in a great deal of pain.]

[Yuan turns around, quirking an annoyed eyebrow. Someone is interrupting his fun.]

What's wrong with you?

[Axel waits a minute, peeking at Yuan out from between his fingers, then he straightens and drops the act.]

You didn't even jump. Wow. A professional. You got me thinking, though.

[He shoves his hands in his coat and strolls over to the black hole. It's not big enough to fit a person inside, but that doesn't mean he's not tempted to try. He pulls a chain out of his pocket and kneels (much to the sound of other chains attached to various parts of his clothes, what a freak) and slowly lowers the chain into the abyss.]

You could say that, yeah.

[He eyes the newcomer with curiosity. Some goth kid, no doubt. The chain thing is interesting, though, and he's not about to stop someone else from playing with it, too. It might even count as tempting someone else to mischief.]

...If something grabs you, I'm not pulling you back. Fair warning.

[Axel shrugs and continues lowering the chain into the hole.]

Fair enough. It doesn't seem big enough to jump in, and I'd really hate to lose an arm unnecessarily, so this'll have to do.

[How rude!! The black hole spits out his paperclips. They are not, however, as they were before. They are a paperclip chain.]

[Yuan stares at the pattern. It doesn't make more sense with prolonged looking.]

...Huh.

[Let's see what pens make it do!]

[Pens, apparently, do not inspire a reaction. Or he hasn't thrown enough in. A or B.]

[More pens go in, one after another, until the handful runs out. He's got nothing better to do, and this is weird and interesting.]

[Instead of pens, more paperclip chains come out when Yuan is done, this time landing as '617373.']

[Having already experimented with the black hole, he looks over at Yuan with one eyebrow lifted in an arch of perfect scepticism, if such a thing is possible.]

Do you often use paper clip chains to write in hex, or is this a special occasion?

Not my doing. [He nudges the chain with his foot.] That's the one it spat back at me after I'd been dropping them in it.

That explains a great deal. [He picks up the chain, looking over the linkages.] Very dexterous for a black hole. Most that I know can't even fold origami cranes.

You meet a lot of them in your line of work? [Not that he knows anything about what that is, but this guy's pretty interesting. And weird, which means Yuan will be snarky at him.]

[wanders over toward the black hole, for a moment just looking from Yuan to the hole to the paperclips on the ground] [flatly] That's not a good idea. The hole's dangerous.

[ooc: Oliver is currently suffering from an expereiment. He is seeing, thinking, and feeling in blacks and whites right now.]

Oh, yeah? [He looks over with a raised eyebrow. This guy's very soul is appearing distinctly monochrome. He wonders if that's natural.]

What'll happen if I keep at it?

[his thoughts, unfortunately, are just as monochrome as his soul at the moment] I don't know, but it'll be something bad.

[He shoots a rubber band at the hole.] Sounds interesting, guess I'll have to find out.

[This is exactly the sort of distraction the Doctor was looking for. He frowns at the hexidecimal pattern.] Someone's trapped in there? Doesn't make any sense. I've chucked lots of things in there, and they never came back.

...What do you mean, trapped in there? [Sadly, Yuan does not read hexadecimal.] You mean I've actually been shooting rubber bands at someone's head?

[That's sort of irritating. He likes to know about it when he torments people.]

[shrugs] Might've been. But look at the paperclips. They're in hexadecimal.

[Jamie tries to take in the paperclips, hole, sign and man pitching things into the hole all at the same time, which pretty much just results in him popping up on his toes as he tries to look over the man's shoulder.]

Oh, so that must be that black hole thing I've heard about. Why are ye throwing things into it?

Because I'm bored, and there's a sign that says not to. [He proffers a rubber band.] Want to try your aim?

[He's fairly bored as well, and that looks like it might be fun, but he still hestitates.]

I don't know...isn't that sign there for a reason?

[Yuan shrugs.] I've been throwing things in for a while now, and the only thing that's happened is that it spat some of the paperclips back out, all twisted up. Some kid even threw a fireball in, and nothing blew up.

[The rubber band is still being held out.] It's perfectly safe.
