[oliverplus]

[Oliver is sitting in the middle of the Plane's theatre, his feet propped up on the seat in front of him, munching popcorn and clearly enjoying himself immensely. he's laughing, he's cheering, and at this particular moment he's just gasped at the turning point of the film]

What? No way! This is sci-fi. Anything's possible! You have to...hah! Now you've got it! Yeah, give that a go!

[puts a handful of popcorn in his mouth, then makes some sort of angry noise around the food. swallows and draws back a hand, clearly planning to chuck some popcorn at the screen]

Not you again! You'd think after all these years they would've learned to make the villains more-

[and then, for no clear reason, he stops. for anyone watching, it appears that for a moment he is frozen mid-motion. someone with a discerning eye would notice his expression slackening. finally, very slowly and calmly, he lowers his hand, dropping the popcorn back in the bucket. and he stares at the screen before him--a screen currently rocked by an explosion--with an utterly blank expression. when he speaks next, there is no hint of emotion in his voice--no concern, worry, or shock. he's just making an observation]

...the colour's gone.

[ooc: Oliver is now experiencing his second experiment. Everything has gone black and white--his sight, his thought processes, and even his emotions.]

[turns to Jamie, his expression still flat] No, there's no colour. It's all black and white.

[narrows his eyes, studying Jamie] So are you. Everything's black and white.

[bonnypiperlad]

[He automatically looks down at his kilt. It's still red. His hair, when he pulls a piece of it out and tries to look at it, seems brown, but that hurts his eyes, so he stops.]

No, I'm not.

[Jamie's starting to feel a little bit worried, now.] You've not gone and hit your head, have ye?

[oliverplus]

[shakes his head, still utterly calm, even at that accusation] No. I was watching the film, and then all the colour disappeared.

[bonnypiperlad]

Well, at least it's not that, then. [He's not sure what else it could be, though, and scratches his head.]

I don't suppose it could have been something ye ate...no, that's daft. Why would that make the colour go away?

[oliverplus]

[Oliver's expression doesn't change, his words merely an observation] Food on the Plane could do anything.

[bonnypiperlad]

[Oliver may be calm at the moment, but that observation startles Jamie.] Anything? So the food could have done this to ye?

[He looks down with a bit of horror at his own popcorn, then sets it aside.]

[oliverplus]

Yeah, could've. You never know with the Plane.

[Oliver would so be trying to reassure Jamie, but as he is at the moment, he's not really noticing social cues]

[bonnypiperlad]

[That's...a little strange, actually. Forgetting about the popcorn for the moment, Jamie looks at Oliver with a faint frown. Something's off, but he isn't really sure what it is.]

Maybe I should go find the Doctor for ye.

[oliverplus]

[just looks at him for a moment before he responds] To fix my eyes?

[bonnypiperlad]

[More that Jamie thinks the Doctor would be much better at helping out here than he would, but he'll go with that.]

Aye. The Doctor would know what to do to help fix your eyes.

[oliverplus]

[nods; that makes sense. the Doctor can fix anything, after all] Then we can look for him.

[bonnypiperlad]

[hesitating] Are...are ye sure ye want to come with?

[oliverplus]

Yeah. [you're a friend, and you're planning to find the Doctor. why wouldn't he want to come with?]

[bonnypiperlad]

But...och, never mind. Let's go, then.

[He'll just keep an eye on Oliver to make sure nothing else really strange happens while they're looking, that's all.]

[oliverplus]

Okay. [stands, heading out of the theatre] Where are we gonna look?

[bonnypiperlad]

Um... [Good question, really, and Jamie looks around trying to decide what's the most likely place to find the Doctor. Oliver's been here longer, though, so maybe he'll have some ideas.]

Where do ye tend to run into the Doctor, anyway?

[oliverplus]

[Oliver's answer continues to be almost mechanical] Everywhere. Wandering, or the forest. Here. Sometimes the bar.

[bonnypiperlad]

[Jamie's puzzled by those mechanical responses, but is really at a loss as to how to deal with them.]

Aye. Well, let's try the bar, then.

[oliverplus]

Okay. It's over this way. [gestures to their left as they exit the theatre. unfortunately, unless Jamie hits an emotional trigger, mechanical is about all he's going to get. Oliver will be terribly apologetic later]

[bonnypiperlad]

[Nodding, Jamie heads to the left. He'll likely not think that Oliver will actually have anything to apologize for, unless something happens in the meantime.]

Och, I hope the Doctor's there. I'm not so sure we can find him if he's not in one of the smaller places.

[There's a pause before he continues.] I wish I could just bring my Doctor here instead. I know where he is back home.

[oliverplus]

We'll find him. There are Doctors everywhere, here.

[at that, Oliver's flat expression finally shifts. he turns to Jamie, wistful now. when he speaks again, his voice is softer and a bit sad] How's your Doctor?

[bonnypiperlad]

Och, he's the same as he ever was, mostly. Although...have ye ever seen him when he's trying to figure out a puzzle of some sort and he hasn't quite gotten there yet? He's been like that lately.

How's yours?

[oliverplus]

[nods, still wistful] He's impossible when he's like that.

[looks down, his expression overcome by sadness] I haven't seen him in a while.

[bonnypiperlad]

Aye. I hope he figures out whatever it is soon.

[Pursing his lips thoughtfully, Jamie just looks at Oliver for a moment.] Maybe yours is off trying to figure out some puzzle, too?

[oliverplus]

[doesn't meet Jamie's eyes] I...don't know. He just hasn't been on the Plane in a while...
