[The Doctor looks a little lost in the woods, literally and figuratively. He's staring at his reflection in the stream, arms wrapped around his knees.

After a few long moments of brooding, he frowns, and starts pulling things out of his pockets. His sonic screwdriver, high-tech night vision binoculars, psychic paper, a banana --

he frowns at that one]

When did I put you in there? And what for? Who carries around a banana? Can't blame myself for liking them, they've got loads of potassium, but it's a bit random...why can't I remember?

[he slowly peels the banana and eats it, hoping it will spark something in his memories. Or lack thereof.]

[nods] Positive. I remember the Twins mucked around in my head...made it so I couldn't sense my own people particularly well. Still can't.

That's... they can do something like that? Permanently? [She frowns deeply.] Chances are they've messed with your memory, too, though I can't be completely sure.

[She might be able to tell if she mucked around in his head a bit, but it's not something she'll do without permission, and she's even less sure of revealing herself.]

[That catches her by surprise, but then she smiles, looks down at her lap.]

That's a bit of a long one. Let's just say that the world ended, and all that's left is London, where I live.

Maybe "ended" isn't the right word. "Started over" is better.

Me and my friends watch over the refugees and take care of them.

[raises an eyebrow] Somehow, I'm not surprised that London's the last place standing. What happened?

No one's sure. One minute, everything was normal. The next, there was water everywhere. We ran for high ground and just barely escaped the flood.

We found other survivors as we went looking for civilization. Eventually we all settled down in Whitechapel. It had access to resources, and it was big enough - and high enough - to support all of us.
