[Damon is also on the Plane again, looking a bit nervous. But he's trying to sooth his nerves through a bit of good old scientific experimentation. What is he experimenting with?

Drinks! That's right, Damon is at the Astral Bar with an assortment of fruits and liquors, attempting to make a variety of different cocktails. Because all Time Lords are secretly alcoholics. Of course, he doesn't have actual recipes to work with, so it's a bit hit or miss. The only one he's really perfected is the daiquiri (thanks to Straxus), which he is drinking at the moment.]

This is obviously more complicated than it seems...if only there was a proper manual, I'm certain I could learn. [and then, under his breath] At this rate, I'll need to.

[Completely ignoring Damon, the Master strides over to the bar counter and starts making himself a White Ballistic. Sugar! Cream! Champagne! Ice! God knows what else! He makes it will the ease of practice, then swallows the entire thing in one rather horrifying go before he makes another.]

[Well, that decides it. There's a momentary look of dislike, but he covers it up politely. Sort of.] I would prefer it if you didn't blow up this particular bar, Master. [thoughtfully] Of course, it may simply replace itself like the drinks.

[Hi, Damon!! Dorothy's drinking a Shirley Temple with one of those little cocktail swords full of cherries in it. She sits at the bar and peers over it, trying to get a good look at what he's doing]

They make books for this stuff, y'know. I'd help, but I'm really better at making shots. [...wow, Dorothy. Anyway, she beams at him] I like your dress!

[have a lineface, Dorothy] It's not a dress, it's a robe. [then, more warmly] And a book would be very helpful, but I doubt I could find a decent one on Gallifrey.

Ohhh, this place is quite swanky, isn't it? [heads right on over and has a seat at the bar] So! What are the specials today, barkeep? [winks at Damon]

[His glass slips from his hand when the Doctor walks in, and Damon mutters a soft curse in Gallifreyan, which he hasn't done in a long time. He slips on his gloves, and crouches down to pick up the glass. He's grateful for the excuse to avoid the Doctor's gaze, because he knows he looks like a mess. Today's special: traumatised!Damon :|b]

[arches an eyebrow] Didn't think I'd startled you that badly. Have a bit too much, or something?

[shakes his head, continuing to pick up the glass and firmly not looking at him] I'll be fine, Doctor. You know how high our tolerance is...

Oh, I'm well aware. [frowns] But this isn't about drinks or alcohol tolerance or anything like that, is it?

[he finally glances up, a terrible mixture of pain and fear in his expression] I know there's no sense in brooding over something that hasn't happened yet, but I can't stop...

[have a weak smile, Oliver. It's been a bad day.] You might put it that way.

[frowns] Hey, what's wrong?

[glances down awkwardly] It's nothing, I've just been a bit nervous about the Doctor's suggestion...he thinks I ought to provoke Commander Maxil in public, but I'm not certain I can. [which is true, but clearly not the entire story. He's not about to tell Oliver what the Master told him, though.]

[that's probably a good thing as no one else has told Oliver about it either. but Oliver also doesn't know much about Damon's past--only that something happened to make him Head Technician. so he frowns curiously] Provoke him about what?

[sighs] To put it simply, he suspects me of turning renegade like the Doctor. I helped him the last time he was on Gallifrey, and the Chancellery Guard has been...keeping an eye on me ever since.

[after a moment, he wraps his arms around Damon, holding him firmly; softly] You can tell me.
