[And just like that, someone pops up onto the plane, whistling away. Rather, he was whistling. He's not anymore. No, see, winding up in a completely nonsensical place instead of the inside of a shop will usually kill any tune you've got]
Well...this is a first. [He takes a quick look at his rear and, yup. The street just isn't there anymore.] I hope this isn't supposed to mean I've gone off my nut now. Oh blimey, now that would be a right mess, wouldn't it? Have a hard time explaining this one, I would indeed.
[He reaches into his trench coat and pulls out his glasses, putting them on and taking a good sweep of the place. He spots the flyers and, going back to whistling, walks over and picks one out. He gives it a good few reads, even chuckling a little]
Right, that's quite enough of that I think. [He pockets the flyer and starts walking off to find someone] Let's have ourselves a gander and see if we can't get a logical explanation for all this.

Ain't a logical explanation for this, buddy.
[A rare moment where Ray is feeling sociable. Yes. Plus I couldn't resist.]
no subject
No. No, not you. You're different, aren't you? The clothes, the hair, the scar...
Yeah, he's just staring now.]
no subject
Problem?
[Ray is potentially seeing if he can start shit with a stranger. He seems normal enough, so he's going to test whether or not this is some super powered nutter.
Which probably isn't wise. But it's Ray, and he's gotta blow some steam.]

Can't say I was expecting to be getting questions when I was looking for answers. Especially peculiar ones such as that. All the same, nineteen eighty three.
Now just who are you supposed to be?

DCI Jim Keats. And while it's my personal opinion that I'm by no means obnoxious, I suppose my bias invalidates it.

Oh, there hasn't been any of that yet. A pity, really.
no subject
Right. Well don't expect any.
Who are you?
no subject
Oh, I don't know about that. It all depends on just what you define as luck, now doesn't it?
DCI Jim Keats.

Thought it were drugs or sommat. Or maybe a gas leak. So that's normal.

I'm beginning to realize that normalcy has little to no place here. It certainly might seem like either of those, but it isn't really. That would be logical and as I understand it, this place defies logic.
no subject
Pretty much, yeah. Oh, uhm. [He sticks out his ice cream free hand and smiles.] I'm DC Chris Skelton. Don't worry. 'S not too bad here. Usually.
no subject
You don't say. DCI Jim Keats. Seems to be a fair share of us coppers in this place.

It's the middle of space. Don't see how there'd be that much logical 'bout that.
no subject
And you're definitely his Chris.
Have an awkward stare for like...a few seconds.]
Can't right blame a bloke for looking for some sense in all this. Particularly when it seems like sense keeps getting away from you.
no subject
Er... Yeah. Won't work, though. Trust me. I've been here a bit now, and I still don't make any more sense than it did before.

As much as it pains me to say it, there isn't much that has to do with logic around here.

I'm inclined to agree with you at this point. What a mess this all is.

I'm DI Alex Drake. I take it this is your first visit to the Plane?
