as promised; the fifth
[Mysteriously, a pile of pillows (both couch pillows and bed pillows) and blankets (again; both for beds and throws) appears to be growing from a pair of couches pushed together, cushions to cushions. The origins are uncertain, though a few may be recognizable as having previous lives on the plane (before becoming part of the Collective, that is), and some of them may be from a certain Firefly-class starship, and a few may not have any origin at all, but instead born of some basic need for something comfortable, warm, and snuggly.
After a moment, the pile's creator appears again, carrying her last few blankets and seats herself on the couches, revealing them to be a sort of extremely soft nest.
She would not object if anyone were to bring extra offerings of more pillows, blankets, or even (decadence!) stuffed animals.]

...Because that is totally new]
Hey, what's this? Looks comfy!
[She currently wishes to snuggle in pillows; it is not a bad wish]
no subject
It's nesting. [It's a v. important biological urge, don't you know.]
no subject
...What, like a bird or somethin'?
no subject
It's instinctual to multiple species of mammal. Not confined to birds.
no subject
Sounds interestin'; though I wonder if birds call it nestin' themselves. I mean, I bet they have their own special bird language and they call it something different; they probably worship it or something- perhaps it's a holy word! That'd be interestin', I suppose it's kinda valuable to them so it'd make a sort of sense if it was a holy word.
...I bet all those mammals call it different things as well; I wonder what they call it- though I bet it's pretty an' stuff! Most language is pretty; and they're all so different- have you ever noticed that? Everything is so different; I always wonder how people who have more than three languages in their head cope. It must be like they're on the edge of explosion all the time, I wonder if that's fun.
[Deeeeeeeeeep breath; and then she beams again. For she was with the babble even if nobody else (in the universe) was] Hey, can I sit with you for a bit?
no subject
If we start now, we can catalogue the etymology of bird languages. We can write books and be famous! [BEAMING BACK. And she draws her legs into herself a little to make room and pats a cushion next to her because OF COURSE YOU CAN SIT, CALLY.]

Here. This one is soft.

Xièxie nĭ.
You've got a share now.
no subject
A share? What do you mean? [headtilt]
no subject
[Because she is nothing if not generous to her shareholders. Corporate giants like a River Tam can afford to be, you know.]
no subject
[She moves a bit closer, looking it over and marveling at how fluffy and awesome it is, almost like it's too sacred to sit in just yet.]
It looks comfortable. Where did you get all of the stuff?

I'm Naminé. What's your name?
no subject
River.
no subject
That's a beautiful name.

[:D :D :D :D
INARA WOULD OFFER TO COMB HER HAIR OR SOMETHING.
...Maybe they're not ready for that yet.]
no subject
Can I donate this to your cause?
no subject
Hi.
[That may be a yes, or she may have just lost track of the question.]
no subject
Here, take it. [She offers the pillow to River again, a gentle smile on her face. Almost motherly.]
no subject
She still looks a little puzzled by something. Or maybe she's just distracted.]
Xièxie nĭ.
no subject
What is it?
no subject
[...Oh, River. Yes, she did just outright misunderstand the question this time.]
no subject
This is a rather nice nest you're making. What's your name? I'm Sirkka.

[And she takes a moment to contemplate the placement of her new pillow, shifting others around a bit for precisely the right balance, aesthetically and strategically.
Once she's done with that, she starts tracing absent-minded circles in the fabrics of the comfy things immediate to her position.]
It's a dual language, dual culture. Héměi, bùxiāngfú. (http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php?page=worddict&wdrst=0&wdqb=in+harmony)

[River considers her wealth of comfy things and graciously picks one out to offer to Sirrka.]
no subject
Tah-dah! Here we go.
no subject
She may be reacting more to the Doctor's general appearance than his contributions.]
Xièxie nĭ.
[AND HELLO, YOU SEEM LIKE SOMEONE SHE'S TALKED TO BEFORE. In... multiple incarnations.]
no subject
[And he sits down in the middle of the pillow fort]
This is rather nice. You've done a wonderful job.

no subject
- Oh. She guesses Sebastian being here is okay, too.
But the smile is largely directed towards the bear. Sorry.]
It's very strategic. [And she offers a blanket to Aloysius. In case he's cold!]

And then she pats the pillow nearest her, somewhat self-satisfied.] We're prepared for attacks.

THEY ARE NOW CO-CONSPIRATORS!
This makes him marginally more worthy of attention.]
