001: awwwwwhere goes.

[Slo-bo's walking. It's a pretty bored, foot-dragging pace, actually, with no real awareness that something's changed. That is, until he starts paying attention to the sound of his footfalls.]

...Tch. [he sniffs, head turning this way and that as he does so.] Nn...That ain't right.

[he stands quiet for a moment longer, listening for those tell-tale city sounds. nope. he grimaces, rolling his shoulders while his hands stay purposefully casual in his pockets. 'i'm not scared!', he's trying to say. he should be trying to say 'where is this?' or 'what's going on?', but that would require asking out for help. he's blind, not helpless.

but now he's just annoyed.]

Frag. [another sniff, slowly starting to saunter again, getting antsier. when his boot taps the faint edge of a building, he stops. reaching out, he feels the wall and the corner, considering. seemed like it was the only one in the area, if his sense of space was right.

...but buildings don't answer questions.

so he punches it. hard. he's grinning at the loud sound of impact and the crumbling of concrete.]

Heh. [nice echo. that'll get someone's attention!]

I don't!

Anyway. Why would I lie to a blind person? That's just mean.

[He's guessed as much, considering Slo-bo is... acting like a blind person, touching everything, smelling, etc.]

[Axel doesn't even move to dodge. He knows it's not going to hit when the kid throws it.]

... Sorry.

[He actually sounds sincere.]

I guess I put that the wrong way. Wanna start over?

I'm trying! You're the one all, "Blah blah blah, I don't believe you"—

[Axel drops from the Plane suddenly. There's not a trace of him, not even the tingle of magic if he had done something like portal out.

He reappears about five seconds later, still talking, but sort of muffled since he's eating a muffin.]

—though there was this one time where I lost my coat inside of a corridor of darkness, that was kind of unfortunate, sort of like when the dryer eats your socks.

[Axel considers this. Most people would logically run away. Or at least walk away in a cool fashion.

Instead he swallows, looks at the half of his muffin, and then back to Slo-bo.

And produces a second chocolate muffin.]

Muffin?

[identity profile] smolderingdark.livejournal.com 2010-04-23 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
You sure you don't want a muffin?

[AND AXEL FOLLOWS.]

It's not me who did it. It's those creepy twins. Once you meet them, they bring you here somehow. Or that's what I've been told.

Maybe it was a woman? Kinda middle-aged, very scientific?

[identity profile] smolderingdark.livejournal.com 2010-04-23 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that was the store. The store of ... destiny.

Welcome to the Plane, kid.

Yeah, for a bit anyway. Just think about home and no one will bug you for a while.

If you stay off too long, though, something will yank you back. Happened to me.

[Awwww.]

... Well, wherever you came from. I meant home as in like, general world. I'm not anywhere near home right now either.

[A dark, regretful look passes across Axel's expression. Slo-bo can probably sense the hesitation.]

... Been there, done that.

Where were you before you got here?
