dìsì; the red shoes.

[River is sprawled out on the ground - again, let's be honest, she's done this sort of thing before - with multi-coloured markers and a book of fairy tales stolen from the library on the Plane. On first glance she appears to be annotating it; on further inspection, it becomes clear that she's not so much annotating as editing, crossing out whole sections and writing new ones in the margins, pointing out fallacies, and occasionally drawing diagrams. She's fixing it, you see! Making it better. It may or may not be a very valuable edition.

You'll thank her later.]

It is, yes. But -- it's a story. It doesn't have to make sense. I mean, granted, maybe in some worlds it makes perfect sense, but obviously not in yours or mine.

[Well, why not? He's got nothing else to do, and this is a way to get to know some people, at least. He takes the marker and sits down, rubbing his hands together] Okay. Where'd you stop?

[Ted inspects the sentence carefully, and gives a thoughtful frown.] No, maybe not for the time and place. But have you taken into account that the girl could know an enchantment of some kind?

Ah! A princess. Then she's probably not magical. Hmn. Any other explanations you can think of?

Right, so not a coincidence. Hm. [And he'll be making a notation of that in the margin.]

[He nods, grins, and scribbles down a short notation of that in the margin] Thanks. I'm not the greatest expert on weather patterns, except when the Bug's involved.

[He gives her a grin. Nerding about the Bug is fun, okay?] It's my ship. She's not here, unfortunately, but I'm hoping I can figure out a way to get her here.

See, she doesn't exactly have one. I built her myself, so. The only ones that are out there are extras or old ones just in case I need them.

[Aaah she's adorable! Kinda odd, but adorable. :D] Well, I guess, once I go back home. Gotta figure some things out, though.

[identity profile] bwahahabeetle.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay! [He grins back and turns back to the book, tapping his marker on his chin] Got any more for me?

This is true. [There's another thoughtful tap] And besides, if it were hot, surely most of the house would melt. It's completely impractical. [And look! Another notation.]

{Aaaaand I fail. GO ME :D}
