His expression is vacant for a moment, lingering on the main course, but then he remembers himself and puts lids over the dishes.]

I have a... general inquiry to make to anyone with a knowledge of history. History of the Gamatra sector, very early 27th century. Specifically, I'd like information on the history of the Fifth Axis expansion through the Vega System... and on its occupation of the planetoid designated KS-159, formerly Cappa Nine Seven under the Earth Empire, originally Delfus-Orestes.

[Through a supreme effort of will, he does not let his voice waver as he says the last words. He even conjures up a smile now, the sort of smile that is laughing at someone else's cosmic joke.]

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Love and War. The way some of my friends run their relationships, I think they hardly distinguish between the two.

Then they really must learn more from the lessons of their--Well, I suppose I cannot assume such a thing easily anymore. They should learn more from the lessons of the ancient humans. We were more in touch with the spiritual, with ourselves, yet it was mostly lost. It is why my magic appears so powerful compared to the magi of the modern day, after all.

As pessimistic as it sounds, I've seen a tenancy towards equilibrium in humanity. Social structures change, but the same problems and hang ups still haunt them as those they were afflicted with two thousand years ago. And I can tell you it doesn't change that much in the next hundred thousand years, either.

It is only that the Gods choose to interfere less, if they are here at all. I think that is quite an improvement, though I may be biased.

Or perhaps they've just gotten more subtle at their games.

Perhaps. But the Gods I worshiped were never much for subtlety.

That would get in the way of glamour and pomposity, I imagine. It would probably make it difficult to gain cults of ardent worshippers as well.

The Greeks seemed to have little trouble with it. But how glad I am to have lived beyond such an era. Looking back, it was truly a barbaric time.

The plumbing, I admit, was rather disappointing. But facetiousness aside, I'm happy you live beyond them too. It's my hope you'll see many more years yet.

As is it mine. Nearly a month of a much freer life has already proven to be one I quite enjoy.

What was life like for you before this? Not in Greece. During the Holy Grail Wars.

{She pauses, and her good humor disappates, slightly} It was an unfortunate summoning. My first Master...forced me to do things I did not wish to do, and when he slighted me too far, I...killed him. A man with no magical background saved me from disappearing from the world, and I served him faithfully. I loved him, and the time we spent together was the happiest I had known. But it was inevitable that I should lose the War, and I knew that.

[He listens impassively.] I see. [Braxiatel speaks quietly, out of respect for what has passed.] What was your last Master's name? The good one, I mean.

Souichirou Kuzuki. He was a quiet, impassive man, but quite honest. I died protecting him, and I do not regret that at all.

[looking at the stars in the sky to the left of her] An honourable death. Do you know anything of what became of him?

I do not. The children are unlikely to have killed him after I passed, so I believe that my death was not in vain.

No. No, I'm sure it wasn't. He must have been quite a remarkable man.

Quite. It would not be an exaggeration to say that he restored my faith in people.

It would have been an honour to meet him.

[thoughtfully] Though I could still have my chance. There's a possibility, if not a probability, that he could be brought to the Plane.

I...I suppose that is true. I would like to meet Master Souichirou again, but at the same time, I would not want to cause him any unnecessary problems with my presence.

I can only imagine he'd be happy to see you.

{She laughs a bit}

I suppose he would be, in his own way. Souichirou had been raised to become an assassin, so he rarely showed emotion at all. I think I liked that aspect of him, as well. He had no pity or scorn for me, just an indifferent honesty that I have not seen in anyone else.

Did he become the assassin he was raised to be? You know, I seem to recall Rider naming that as one of the classes.

Not in that sense, no. Other than the Assassin I summoned, all of the Assassin class is the Hashshashin. It is common knowledge, but it is not useful to know.

Your Holy Grail War really does have fun with its legends and history, doesn't it? I didn't realize a Servant could summon another Servant.
