[Labyrinth hijinks with incommand]

[Dino had been planning on heading to a rather serious meeting. Ending up a plain stone corridor that opened into an area that looked like someone with a very active imagination had gone mad and attempted to design a maze was the last thing he had expected. But it startles him on for a moment before he frowns, considering the scenery.]

Well this is new.

[Satoshi is already inspecting the walls, particularly the ones above them that seem to go off into all sorts of wrong directions]

Hn.

[he looks at Dino]

The machine?

[Dino jumps, half drawing his whip before he registered what Satoshi had said. He mentally berates himself for not noticing the boy as he forces himself to relax.]
That is the most likely cause. I was hoping it was just an illusion, but I guess I'm not that lucky.

[Satoshi's eyes flicker to the whip, but he decides not to question it]

It's possible they're testing us. [glancing at a card on the ground] So we should try to find the centre.

[Starts to hook the whip back on his belt, then thinks better of it. Better to have it out in case it's needed.]
So we're rats in a maze now. I've heard that you can get out of a maze by following the walls in one direction, but I'm not sure how well that will work here.

It fits. [considering] If we can find out how to reorient ourselves to the different gravity wells, we might be better able to move around. If it's a true labyrinth, though, there's only one path.

[He grins a little] So that means that no matter what, we have to start moving. Us just sitting here isn't going to accomplish anything.

[a nod] Do you have any idea where the centre would be?

I don't have a clue. But I think it would be..[He pauses for a second before pointing down a corridor on the left] in that direction!

[Blind luck? Well, it seems all right enough for Satoshi. He closes his eyes as he walks, hands in his pockets, and listens. He doesn't open his eyes to speak]

They have a history of drawing obstacles from our worlds. We should likely expect things that suit our universes. Is your turtle with you?

[Blink luck has served Dino well before. He pats his pocket as he scans the area while he walks.] Enzio is right here. That doesn't mean they still won't try something with him. They've used him against me before.

If they are drawing on threats from our worlds then keep an eye out for illusions. I've run into illusionists a few times back home and they can be very nasty.

From my side, I guess it's fair to say we should watch out for thieves. Our ideas of what labyrinths should be like might influence what we meet, too. [Satoshi opens his eyes, now scruitinizing the walls. More than monsters, he is expecting traps]

[Dino has a tiny, ironic, smile on his face] Thieves, huh? Well the only labyrinth I can think of is that one from the myth. I really don't want to meet a minotaur here. That would be kind of a pain to deal with.

[As he finishes speaking he stumbles, one of the stones he's just stepped on sinking down a couple of inches with an ominous click]

[Satoshi remembers Dino's whip, thinks about the sinking stone, and suddenly remembers something from pop culture]

I'd suggest running now.

[Has already come to the conclusion that at least moving would be a good idea. Nothing good ever came from hidden switches in the floor. The loud rumble he hears approaching them makes it seem more urgent]
....Good idea. [He scrambles to his feet and takes off, hoping Satoshi will be able to keep up with him.]

[Satoshi does a fair job keeping pace with Dino, possibly because you can't spend your nights running around museums without learning a bit about being fast, but his stamina isn't the best so he needs to find a way to end it quickly]

We need to get it to go past us or to trap it in a narrowing passage or...

[He isn't completely sure that a corner will be enough to slow it down, and that turn reveals a hole in the ground]

Can you jump it?

[he doesn't stop running to contemplate - he wants momentum on his side]

I can make it.

[Dino sounds a lot more confident than he feels. If this was just about physical ability then he could clear the hole easily. He's well however, that he isn't the most coordinated when his men aren't around, he's just tries to hide it. As they reach the hole he pushes those doubts to the back of his mind and just jumps. He clears it, barely, and lands awkwardly. He spends a heart stopping moment teetering at the edge before managing to throw himself forward, away from the hole.]

[Satoshi takes the jump as well, landing in a well-trained roll, then sits (because he's tired and trying to hide it) so he can watch the ball fall into the hole]

Can you see another level through the hole?

[There's a possibility that they could try dropping down there themselves to move to another path.]

[After a moment of catching his breath, Dino crawls over to peer down into the whole as he tries to ignore a painful twinge when he moves his ankle]

..I can see some sort of light down there, but I'm not sure what it is or how far down it happens to be.

Then it's better not to risk it.

[But when Satoshi glances back to the hall they were heading down, there is now a wall and an old brass door-knocker.]

[Satoshi pushes himself to his feet and stops at the door, not quite willing to use the knocker and potentially invite a trap to attack them]

It could be a puzzle of some kind.

[Dino climbs to his feet and walks carefully over to the door. He examines it for a moment then reaches out to touch the knocker very lightly with his fingers. It's slightly warm to the touch]

Could be. The question is, just what kind of puzzles is it suppose to be?

This type of object doesn't have any significance in your world, does it?

[Satoshi holds his hand above the knocker, as if to touch it cautiously, but he is actually testing it for magical traces]

Not really...[He leans forward to examine it more closely. As he does, he notices a small sun symbol at the end of the knocker. The sight of it makes him freeze, then he gives a sigh] Does this symbol mean anything to you?

[looking at him closely] Nothing. What does it mean to you?

It could be a symbol of something...[Dino digs around in his pockets for a few moments. He uncovers his wallet, an irate Enzio who snaps at him and a bit of change before remembers something and reaching into an inside pocket. Satoshi might catch a glimpse of something that looks suspiciously like a gun under the coat before Dino brings out two rings. He examines them for a second then sighs.]

And I don't have a sun ring with me. Of course they couldn't make things easy on us. I guess I can try using a Sky flame and see if that works. It's suppose to be able to unlock whatever any of the other flames can unlock. [It sounds like he's mostly talking to himself. As he finishes he holds up his hand, a look of concentration flashing across his face before one of the rings on his finger bursts into orange flame.]

[Satoshi steps back quickly from the flame, not commenting if he saw anything, though he is listening closely to the talk]
