it reads "GOTHAM FOOD DRIVE", and below, in smaller letters, "Please donate your non-perishables to a devastated metropolis"

beside the desk are several empty bins

Barbara is sitting behind it with a pen and clipboard, looking warily hopeful]

[at least it is only almost? xD he nods, though] Been travelling around time and space for the past 900 years, me, I've seen a fair bit. [pauses, then a bit distantly] Had a companion named Barbara once. You remind me of her.

I have, yes. [he'd rather not dwell on that, though] She was a history teacher. Stood up for her beliefs, and had a very strong sort of character, just like you. Practical, realistic, and a bit idealistic...brilliant mix, altogether. Been a long time since I've seen her.

[and now, he attempts to change the subject. badly] Speaking of, I've got a few other selves wandering about here too...not female ones, mind you. There are three versions of my Tenth -- he's a skinny bloke with big hair and pinstripe suits, and there's a version of my Fifth here too, with a black cricketing outfit.
