beta (and the whisper of fire)
[River's spread out over a section of the ground with notebooks and loose sheets of paper, along with several colored pencils and markers. The colored pencils are for attempting to sketch the positions of the various celestial bodies surrounding the plane. Those drawings are very precise, even pretty, but also covered over with half-finished equations and notations attempting to describe the would-be charts. It's not going very well. You can tell because she crumples up several sheats of paper before standing and disappearing off the plane.
Only to reappear in a huff to gather up her papers and. Well. Use a handy little lighter device from her reality to... set them on fire. Because that's the only way to cleanse them and start over again.
tl;dr: small fire on the Plane, 90-pound huffy teenage girl standing a little closer than is stirctly safe and glaring at it. Providing nobody feeds it more, it'll run its course and burn out on its own.]

[After only a second of thought she plops herself down and stares at the fire happily] ...Y'know, ya could cook things on that. Nice things like meat an' cakes an' soup an' stuff; S'always fun when ya do somethin' like that! Have ya got anythin'?
no subject
No. [She opens her hands a little in demonstration.]

...Well, d'you want to have anythin'? 'Cause then we could have a party here!

[Repeated with distinctly uncomprehending inflection.]

Yeah! Ya have fun, an' ya get drinks an' food an' musicians an' stuff an' then ya get all happy an' dance around. 'S fun; d'you want me to try an' start one? Since a fire is the best beginning for these sorts of things.
