I hid in the shadows the moonlight ♛ of a chilly night illuminated

[Kyouya appears with his laptop on the Plane, so he has good reason to be surprised when there is SNOW around him]

...what?

[Wrapping his laptop up in his blazer, he looks around. First instinct? Someone brought a snow machine. To the Plane at large, and so whoever may be responsible, even if it is Lapis and Lazuli]

I don't think that this is an advisable idea.

[A sigh. He pulls off his glasses to clear up the fog]

[and due to being the fail!romantic interest that he is, a clothing assault involves adding more clothing rather than removing clothing. A sweater...a jacket, some gloves and a scarf. A pair of snow pants, but Haruhi needs more. Another scarf or three, some ear muffs a hat, a pair of mittens, oh my. To top it all off some boots and a hand muff and a parka with a hood pulled over Haruhi's head. He pulls the strings on the hood to keep it closed tight and then finally steps away to inspect his handiwork. All that is visible of Haruhi now are her eyes and half her nose. She probably looks like these kids (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_DMgBO5uWGSU/SVFPdeMOGmI/AAAAAAAAAiU/z-O0cvoUFGM/s1600-h/bundled+up.jpg) except more bundled up.]

[Haruhi basically can't move. She's pretty sure she couldn't even take all this off without rolling around like crazy. Her voice is heavily muffled, so her annoyance might be difficult to make out.]

...Sempai, I'll overheat in this.

[sorry Haruhi, you're too adorable for him to hear what you're saying]

What's that, Haruhi? You look so cute and warm and snug.

[a thought occurs to him, and then he drops and reappears with a camera and a tripod. He sets the timer on the camera and then comes around to Haruhi, an arm over her shoulder and he makes a peace sign, smiling largely. The flash goes off, almost blindingly bright, taking their picture. Tamaki releases Haruhi and then runs around to check out the picture.]

Daddy and daughter look so cute and happy in their winter time outfits. What a heartwarmingly cute family scene!

[and he's staring at the screen on the camera now with dreamy eyes and he's blushing like there's no tomorrow]

[She wants to wave her arms and flail but the best she can do it twitch.]

Get me out of these clothes!

Haruhi looks restless. She must want to play snow games. Ah, but the snow doesn't seem to want to stick.

I know! We can do the next best thing. We'll go to the onsen and sit on the roof. We can watch the snow outside while enjoying the warmth the onsen provides. The conflicting nature of the weather and the temperature will be nice to observe.

Does Haruhi want Daddy to give her a piggy-back ride to the onsen?

[She does her best to shake her head.]

No! The onsen will be hot and this is already warm.

[and then he leans in closer to Haruhi, peeling back a little bit of scarf so he can talk to her in a quiet whispered tone, as if sharing a secret]

There's even a kotatsu at the onsen now. Kyouya and I brought it, but we can't tell anyone. Kyouya said only the four of us can use it. Won't it be fun to sit inside the kotatsu?

[he fixes her scarf again and backs away. His smile is completely content and happy.]

Of course we'll take off our coats when we get there.

[and he finds her hand somewhere in there, and takes a hold of it and begins dragging her to the onsen]

[After a moment, she just sighs and allows herself to be dragged along. He did say they could take off their coats once they got there. And it's always hard to object when he gets that smile on his face.

Kyouya-sempai might be the shadow king but Tamaki-sempai has a lot of sway, too.]

[and they arrive at the onsen and the room with the kotatsu. Tamaki takes off his coat and scarf and gloves and shakes off the excess snow. He turns around to look at Haruhi]

Do you want Daddy to help you get out of your coat and things?

[Somewhere under the billion layers, Haruhi nods.]

I can barely move my arms.

Don't worry, Daddy is here to help Haruhi!

[and Tamaki gets to work stripping Haruhi of the layers of winter gear. It involves a lot of blushing and clumsiness and finally there is a pile of coats and scarves and other things surrounding Haruhi. Tamaki quickly takes a seat at the kotatsu, blushing and playing with a mandarin orange that is sitting there.]

[Haruhi pulls her arms up above her head and stretches out her legs to the sides, breathing in deeply. She can actually move and stuff, hurray! The only reason she's blushing a bit is from the warmth.

She seats herself across from Tamaki and brightens up at the oranges.]

Ah, these are always really good. [She reaches out and takes one, working on peeling it.]

Haruhi likes mandarins?

[looks at his own, and then pushes it across the table to Haruhi. He settles back where he was, still blushing. She's too cute.]

[She blinks.] They're good... Aren't you going to eat yours, sempai?

No, no. I want Haruhi to have mine. You seem to like them a lot and it's nice to give you things.

Would you like it if we had more fruit to go with the cakes? I know you like strawberries too? Maybe some of our guests might like fruit more, too.

If you say so.

[She accepts the orange and finishes peeling hers, biting into it. She eats some before speaking again.] If you wanted to do something fancy, you could do candied fruit pieces, right?

[That is totally fancy.]

[confused] ...candied fruit pieces?

[he is thinking very hard, and then he pushes his fist into his palm, some recognition finally dawning on him] Ah, candied fruit pieces! I've heard of them before in my research, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet.

[That just confuses her but oh well; it's sempai.]

They're pretty good with whipped cream.

Can we find them at the grocery store we went to before?

Mhm, they should be pretty easy to find there. The whipped cream, too.

We have to take a trip right now then! I want to try this wonderful commoner's treat.

Haruhi, you'll take me, won't you?

[Still eating her orange.] Right now?

[stops and blinks, and watches Haruhi eating and relaxing]

...is Haruhi having a nice time in the kotatsu with Daddy?

[Haruhi doesn't really feel like getting up.]

It's pretty comfortable, isn't it?

[his eyes glaze over and he blinks. When he opens them again, they're filled with stars. He nods enthusiastically.]

It is, it is!
