[Someone looks particularly annoyed today... then again, what else is new? She simply stands, her arms crossed, looking around for a moment before speaking.]

I do not think that I will be around here often for the time being. I'd rather this time of year progressed faster than be drawn out due to the time dilation issue. The sooner everyone eats their cake and gets it all over with, the better.

[He laughs a little at the way she's handling the candy cane.] Come on, Pi. It's not poisonous or anything.

Plans? Yeah, mostly. Christmas is a big family thing for us. Doesn't leave much in the way of free time. I think I'll make some free time, though. The holiday event in The World this year is going to be great. What about you?

[A brief moment of surprise, quickly masked.]

I'm staying in the office for most of it. A lot of work has been piling up.

Work on the holidays? Really? [He shakes his head.] Man, I wish I knew the me in your world. Or that the me in your world finds out about that plan of yours.

It's because of him that I have these plans...

Oh? How do you mean?

He's more... [considers word choice carefully] intense than you.

[Okay, now he's curious.]

Hah, what's that supposed to mean?

It relates to the fundamental differences between our realities.

[He nods.]

Don't tell me the me you know is no fun. I think that'd kill me.

I don't think "no fun" is the appropriate term. Perhaps he likes fun too much...

Ah, that kind of "intense". Still, there's got to be some fun to be had on the holidays. Don't just work all the time!

I'd much rather work. Besides, it's not going to get done otherwise.

Yata can't let it wait in honor of some holiday spirit? [He wonders if he should duck now...]

The others may have time off to celebrate in part because I am willing to take over their duties.

[Oshi--! At least that doesn't require dodging, which leaves Kuhn more time to give her a huge griiiiiin!]

Well, I'm sure they appreciate it and all that, but I think they'd like spending time with you, too. Or at least letting you have some vacation time, too. Really.

We work together all the time. I think spending some time apart may be good... and good practice for keeping themselves under control. I think we all need some practice at that.

[He knows she isn't just talking about normal, break-from-the-coworkers sort of break. She means something deeper, something that's a part of her reality. He may not know what it is, but at least he realizes. So he doesn't comment, or make any jokes about it. He just nods.]

Well, don't work yourself too hard, even if you do enjoy paper-pushing. Make some time for yourself! Do what girls do. Take a long bubble bath, or whatever. Do something.

Unfortunately, the world won't stop if I rest. I already had enough down time as it is, I need to make it up.

Down time? What, lately?

I was hospitalized for a few days. Even with your alternate and Haseo picking up the slack, there was still quite a buildup.

[He winces.]

Yikes... at least you're okay now. Right?

Of course. The hospitalization is to make sure that I rest. I'm fine.

[He shakes his head, just glad to know that she's alright. ... but the idea that the work still got backlogged with both "him" and Haseo covering... that's just amusing. So, he smiles a bit.]

You know, it really says something when two people can't effectively pull the workload you do, Pi.

The two of them mean well, but they can't direct themselves the same way. Their specialties are in different areas. Plus, there's been a slow buildup of work lately. Some things just aren't getting done.

Can you get any outside help at all? I mean, I don't know how secretive you guys are in your world, seeing as everything's kind of... a real, global issue and all...
