[Shenzi's appearance on the astral plane is typical of her at ease; in her hyena form, and with a faintly smug but mostly confident expression, she appears suddenly and in mid-stride. It's almost comical how her unease grows visibly as she freezes, then inexplicably vanishes]

And isn't this a fun surprise? What, did someone get cocky enough to kidnap me or something?

[...A talking hyena. Interesting.] Ah, I suppose you could say that; we were all taken here without our consent. However, you are free to return home whenever you wish.

[Shenzi pauses because she's only seen people like Albus on TV]

Finally something useful. How's that?

[He smiles at her in a friendly way.] You simply have to wish it. You can then return here in the same manner.

[She gives him an incredulous look before blinking out of the Plane, and then back into it]

This is really odd.

[Smiling, still.] It doesn't become any less odd over time, I'm afraid.

So, can't this thing be some kind of voluntary hallucination?

A hallucination? I think it would be quite incredible for everyone here to be hallucinating in the same way.

Unless I'm the only real one.

Ah, I see your thinking. I say that you are not, as I am a sentient being and thus prove my existence to myself. But you, of course, have no proof of that.

Can't think of any proof either, since I could just as easily make up you touching me.

That is true as well, yes. I doubt there is any way to prove it to you. It is simply a matter of believing the people here are real, just as, I assume, you believe the people in your own world are real.

[a long pause as she thinks about it and starts getting muddled]

... Yeah. Anyway.

So what's your world like?

My world? I live in 1899 Britain. It is quite normal to me, of course, as it is what I am used to. However, it seems that magic is not common to other worlds here, and magic exists in my world.

[Pauses, then adds:] There are also not hyenas capable of speech in my world. So I believe there is at least one difference between yours and mine.

Think there's more than one difference going on here.

2008 Africa. Though we kinda have magic; maybe I'm just your future.

Ah, yes, that is certainly possible. After all, 2008 is very much in the future, relative to my time.

What sort of magic exists in your world?

Various things. I don't know the more general stuff, different side of the family, but we have shapeshifters.
