[A messy-haired teenage boy suddenly appears on the plane and looks around curiously.]

Okay, this definitely a good news bad news moment. The good news? What there is of it? I'm still alive. Well, I'm not any more dead than I was already. And I was definitely having some doubts after the whole freaky twin thing. The bad news? Which kind of totally trumps the good news. I think I'm stranded. Why can't I ever get stranded in normal places? I mean, I could totally handle getting stuck at a bus stop or airport. Nice normal places. Why is it always some kind of endless void? Or possibly outer space? Same difference, really. Though I have to admit the scenery is a huge improvement over the ghost zone.

In retrospect, entering that shop with the weird-o twins might not have been the smartest thing I have ever done. Note to self, I have got to stop jumping into these places without looking first.

[He begins to squirm in place a bit, until he settles on folding his arms. Again.]

Well, it's still kinda hard to believe. You got any proof? [A demonstration, if you will?]

[Danny stuffs his hands in his pockets and nods.]

[He stands there and just blinks for a few moments.]

Uhhh...okay, then. [He turns and starts wandering around. He doesn't really know this place very well at all, but he figures he's bound to find someplace useful...

...and eventually, he does! A 1920s movie theater! He doubts anyone's in there, but it's dark in there, just in case.] This should be okay.

Okay... So then show me.

[Normally, he'd expect to find that this Danny is completely insane and all these powers are completely made up. But he's already met a vampire here...so what else might be true?]

[Danny grins mischievously at his other self and decides to do the whole show. After all, how many times did you get to shock an alternate version of yourself?

...Wait, stupid question. How many alternate worlds had he been to again? ANYWAY, it was probably still worth it for this version of himself.]

Okay then. I'm goin' ghost!

[Cue the familiar light show.]

[WHOA OKAY too close to the light show! Danny falls over on his butt and OUCH, boy that's going to leave a sore bruise in the morning.

...and there is a white-haired version of himself in the reverse colors of his HAZMAT suit standing in front of him.

Never before has Danny gaped so much in his life! His jaw will hurt after this.]

Hey, you okay?

[The teen ghost holds out a chilly hand to help his counterpart back up. His voice has a noticeable echo now, although it might not be noticeable with all of the other more obvious changes.]

[He doesn't offer a response yet, but he does offer a shaking hand!

But then when he feels the hand and it's cold, he jerks it back.]

[Danny laughs nervously.]

...oh. Right. I guess it makes sense that ghosts would be cold.

[Sense? Pfffft. Sense is on a permanent vacation in a little place we like to call "six feet under."]

Yeah. I barely even notice it anymore. Don't usually hang around humans too much when I'm like this. Except for Sam and Tuck. And Jazz, sometimes.

Sam and Tuck were there when it happened. And Jazz figured it out on her own later. Apart from them? Only the ghosts know.

Oh yeah, that's right. They were there...they were the ones who got me to the ambulance.

I never needed an ambulance then, but yeah. They picked me up after I fell out of the portal. I really freaked them out, I think.

...All the time. I usually have to handle at least one minor ghost a day. Sometimes a lot more.

So...you fight ghosts...but, how do you do it? [He seems to be calming down now. Keyword here is "seems."]

Like a ghost. When I'm like this, I basically am a ghost. And I have all the powers of one.

...And Mom and Dad's gadgets help out a lot too.

[He starts counting the powers off on his fingers.]

Intangibility, invisibility, flying, ectoblasts, shields, my ghost sense, the ghostly wail... I can do all of that.

...No. You know how they are about ghosts.

And every time I start thinking about telling them, I overhear them arguing about the best way to dissect the ghost boy.

Actually, no, I don't. I did say that they pretty much gave up on ghosts after the portal.

...Man, I can't picture them not being obsessed with ghosts.
