[Some time after this. Mion appears looking rather shaken. Her left wrist is bandaged up, and she's holding it close to her chest.

She's walking in no particular direction, mumbling quietly to herself and glancing over her shoulder every now and then.]

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...

Well, they were poisonous. And they grew really fast. They sort of trapped me in the temple and I had to burn my way out.

The wall? You were by the Gate? [Eyes widen because ohshi-] Ms. Sonozaki, the Gate, it...it makes people see things. The Gate is dangerous, especially to a Contractor! [Annnd if there were a wall he would be hitting his head against it.] I should have...I should have warned you. I'm so sorry, Mi--Ms. Sonozaki.

Y-you're kidding, right? But you weren't hurt?

[Mion's own eyes widen.] The Gate makes you...? [And then they narrow, appearing rather cat-like.] Clearly, you aren't giving Oyashiro-sama enough credit, Hei. [Or, y'know, that parasite living her brain, but whatever~]

It must be a sign; it's a reminder. I have to return home, or— [or she'll go crazier. :Db]

Yeah, I'm alright. I managed to get away before they caused too much damage.

[Creepy girl is creepy!] I didn't mean to discredit your goddess. But listen. [Trying to explain without sounding like a disbeliever, even though, heh.] Is there really reason for Oyashiro-sama to be mad at you when it isn't even your fault that you were yanked away from your world? The Gate is very dangerous. It can make you believe in all sorts of things. I don't know what kind of goddess Oyashiro-sama is like, but if she were mad at anyone, she would be mad at the Twins, wouldn't she? For taking you away from her?

Or it might be me she's angry with, for not explaining things to you correctly...

[Roller-coaster girl is on an emotional roller-coaster. FUN TIMES ARE HAD BY ALL!] But this has happened before! It'll happen again. It always does! Every single year... [Her hands are shaking.]

I don't want to be demoned away.

[Hei steps closer and takes her hands.] Ms. Sonozaki. It's not your fault. I'm sure Oyashiro-sama will understand that. If she is upset with you, just explain that it's my fault. Let her blame me. [Pauses, then oh, what the hell, because sad crazy girl is sad and crazy, Hei pulls her into an embrace.] It's not your fault.

I need to go home. Oyashiro-sama might forgive me if I go back home.

[And hello, confused stare.] I don't think it works that way. It's not that simp— [Oh, hi, what's going on here? Mion tenses for a few seconds, but then relaxes, because hugs are nice. Mion likes hugs, and she may or may not be resting her head on his shoulder.] —le.

There's no way the Twins would make this permanent. [He hopes not, anyway.] They'll send us back to our real worlds eventually, and then you can explain things to her.

[Smiles down at her and rests a hand on top of her head, gently.] You'll be alright. I'm sure she'll understand. There's nothing that needs to be forgiven. [Frowns a little.] The Gate likes to take your fears and make them real. Contractors who spend too long close to it often lose themselves. It might be that the Gate was only mimicking Oyashiro-sama. In which case you have nothing to fear so long as you stay here.

And think of it like this. If Oyashiro-sama can chase you through my world, she can also chase you through the Astral Plane. But she hasn't come, has she?

Yeah, I'm sure they will. I hope it's soon.

[Oh snap, a head-pat. Mion and her sister love them. :|b Cue blushing, and she looks down at the ground, because SHE'S TOTALLY NOT DOING THAT.] I hope that's all it was, then.

N-no. But, I was always able to go back before...

I'm sure it was.

Well, but if she was following you in my world, she could have simply followed you here. But she didn't. [Looks her in the eye.] I won't deny that your guardian must have amazing power, but I truly believe that what you saw was only the Gate, making illusions.

[Beams at her.] Now if I remember right, I'm pretty sure dinner was promised?

[She nods, because if she decides to think that way, then maybe it'll be true.] You're probably right; I do feel a bit better now... But uhh, why does the Gate do that to people?

[Dinner?! :O!!] Oh, I almost forgot about that! So, it's still a go~?

Good! [Looks away a little.] Ah, well...the Gate has all sorts of powers that aren't...really all that friendly. It's a very dangerous place, even more so for Contractors. I'm just glad you didn't end up inside it.

Of course it's still a go! Ohagi, right?

I might have if I'd been there any longer. I mean, I was trying to leave, but, I can't imagine what being inside it would have been like... You've gone near it?

Yes! [Beginning to feel a bit better, yeyz.] After everything has been fixed?

...On occasion, yes.

Absolutely. And you should probably stay here on the Plane until then. [Pauses, thinking.] We'll need to figure out how to go about this, too.

Did anything bad happen? [Because if nothing went wrong, then Oyashiro-sama clearly is the problem after all. :|]

That's what I'm starting to think~

[And, oops! Mion didn't think about that silly reality business!] Yeah. Hm... Maybe you could just cook it at home, then bring it here? [But of course, she wouldn't forget the apron. ♥]

I...[Doesn't want to talk about it, but...] I saw someone who wasn't supposed to be there. An illusion. [And now he's remembering Nick, which hurts.] And I saw a man turn into a child before my eyes.

[Pause, then Hei brightens up.] Sounds like a plan. Then, once I'm back in my reality, I'll cook some up for both of us and bring it here. Hm. We can meet at that bar, since it's the only place with chairs.

Another illusion? [She's curious about how the hell something like that is supposed to work, but Hei sounds upset, so she doesn't press.]

Aha, great! And I'll find a nice apron for you~ [Mion grins up at him, fufufu.]

[He smiles back down at her, perhaps a little worried.] Right...can't forget the apron, can we?

Of course not! Unless I save it for another day~ [Which clearly means Mion would have other costumes handy. :|b]

[Chuckles a little.] I'll let you know when the ohagi is ready.

[Composed Mion is composed, rly.] Hee! Ne, you're a decent cook, right?

Keii-chan challenged us to a cook-off once, and he couldn't even make soup right! [Laughs, but baaaw, now she wants to go home. ):]

Heh, I'm good enough for myself, I guess. I suppose I've been complimented before...[Shrugs. Not very good with arrogance except when he's killing people >:D]

Good enough for me! [Mion would rather not become a victim of Hei's arrogance. :D]
