[There is a Reinette, who if not perhaps completely lost to the 'hijinks' of it all is certainly getting into the spirit of things. She is on the very top floor, legs submersed into one of the outdoor baths. She is wearing swimwear, of all things. For a woman accustomed to wearing layer after layer of corsetry and silk? Well, the feel of the water whispering across her legs and the sun on her back is a very liberating thing indeed. Surely that is something like hijinks? She shifts, and the sun catches the green of her ring.

Reinette brings it closer for study.

There is certainly something about it]

OOC: And forgive the mun for being so out of it of late. Just dumping the girls into plot head first! Let's just say she hasn't bumped into her roommate YET. :) Reinette is wearing this - http://www.inacod.com/lifestyle/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/burgundyclassicsheath.jpg

Star, probably.

[instead of rising from his bow, Kyouya's eyes widen for a moment in recognition, and then he bows more deeply]

It is truly an honor. The portraits do not truly capture your presence.

That really is terrifying D:

[processes that and awkwardly follows Kyouya's lead, although Tamaki isn't nearly as smooth about it as he usually is. He doesn't hold the bow very long either, rising back to his full height again.]

Madame de Pompadour. That means people come here from different times.

[his mind roams for the briefest of seconds, but his attention remains on staring at Reinette. He is unsure how to answer her question, and then a little embarrassed]

Both questions, maybe?

Yeah, we will cower while Mel gloats.

[it's Kyouya's impression that no one ever truly is free of their titles, whether occupation or family name]

I have a particular interest in French history.

[Kyouya rises from his bow. When he speaks again, it's in a well-cultivated French, pronounced well but not spoken with a practised speaker's ease]

Tamaki, why don't you introduce us?

[The French words are not for the courtier, but for the king]

Wait, why do I get to gloat? I mean...of course I gloat :D!

[identity profile] hostclubdaddy.livejournal.com 2009-10-12 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
[and he's a little shocked at first to hear that French, but relaxes a bit hearing his native tongue once more. He's happy at the sound of it, but it also adds to the surrealness of the situation as well.]

[in French until further notice]

Ah, right, of course. I am Suou Tamaki, and this is my friend Ootori Kyouya. It's an honour to meet you Madame. Unfortunately I must say we have never met before.

Would that bother Mel?

[Kyouya's reply is still slowed, though theoretically perfect, and he's careful to maintain the correct levels of politeness when he can]

Only as we know all of those notable figures from before our time: through the writings of our ancestors and the research of our contemporaries. If you ask what we know of you, then I would suggest that it's nothing substantial. What I've read lacks the truth that only experience can provide

Am I Bovvered?

It's a great pleasure to meet you, Madame.

[and something clicks and the staring is still there, but he is much more present now, his body language returning to somewhat normal]

How has your stay been so far? If there is anything you need to make your time here more comfortable, I'd be honored to be at your disposal.

[and a much more fluid bow then before]

We were wondering who was setting the grade curve for failiure.

[Almost imperceptible, Kyouya's smile turns to something sharper at the suggestion of pleasurable challenges, while at the same time something relaxes in his posture (though it's all as rigidly calculated as seventeen years of instruction can possibly make it) when Tamaki's body-language normalizes, as if Kyouya was compensating for Tamaki's emotional behavior by wrapping his own in extra formality.]

Our greatest pleasure is to bring happiness to those around us. We've already been given the comforts of two of our friends, as well as the familiarity of this... [for a second, his eyes flicker to Tamaki as he looks for the French word for 'onsen.' 'Hot springs' isn't something Kyouya expected to need in his French vocabulary] ...type of structure we've been placed in. It's very Japanese in style.

I think we agreed it was Star

[he notes that eye flicker, and somehow being called upon for something, even as simple as the term 'hot springs' helps him relax a little more. Despite registering Kyouya looking to him though, his gaze still stays on Reinette.]

Ah, yes, these hot springs are a welcome surprise. Is this your first time visiting such a place?
