[ So, standing near some of the outdoor baths, up against one of the paper-thin dividing walls, is a very, very confused teenager. He seems to be in something of quiet shock while taking in the drastically different surroundings than where he was only twenty minutes ago. On his hand is a ring, but he doesn't seem to have noticed it yet. ]

Hello...? Is anyone around? Where am I?

Well if you're not new to the Plane, it would be a bit silly for me to give you a run-down on it, wouldn't it?

Okay, well you know how for every action, there are a whole group of other actions you could take instead?

Well, what if every alternate course happened? But each time it did, a different universe formed? And if you stretch that back far enough into the history of the universe, then you end up getting worlds with completely different laws of the universe.

In this place, people from all of those different universes can meet. So people from completely different universes, or people who are the same but from parallel universes, all can meet together here. Oh, I should warn you: there are a few doubles of people. Like I said, people who are the same but from parallel universes. I actually have one myself.

Pretend each of these is a parallel universe. And there are hundred and thousands and millions of them, as many as you like. What this place does is it grabs them all, at any point it likes, and brings them together.
