☇ 01 | I got the feeling that something ain't right.
[ Standing there on the Astral Plane is a slightly bewildered young girl. She looks no more than seven years of age and is dressed in tan knee-length shorts, a red turtle-neck top, slippers and a white lab coat tailored to fit her petite size. For a moment she just gazes about the place, trying to take it all in before bringing a hand to her face and massaging the space between her eyes. ]
I am aware of the fact that there are those who are fond of science fiction and the likes, but even this could be considered a bit too much. It isn't like the professor to have such a place within one of the storage supply closets of his home. Not mention I certainly don't see this being a joke on Conan's part either - I don't see how he could possibly accomplish this.
No... this must all just be a dream. Even that too is just slightly irrational. From nightmares to unexplainable inter dimensional closet?
[ There's an unmistakable sigh from the girl that sounds much too like a grown-up. ]
Oh, yes, Haibara, you're slowly beginning to crack. This is what you get for allowing those children to convince you to watch those ridiculous cartoons this morning. A six hour marathon? It could have been better spent on the research.

[The kid pulls out a notebook]
This place is called the Astral Plane. Different 'realities,' that is, universes, meet here. 'The Twins' are a pair of porcelain-like beings who draw people here for their own purpose and are said to grant wishes for a price, while Meredith Sault is a generally unknown party who occasionally interferes. She appears to have the same power as the Twins. One returns to one's world without any time having passed in that world; accordingly, no one will notice the absence. Further, it is possible to travel between the Astral Plane and one's world at will by thinking of that world; it's an intuitive action, like walking.

[You talk very eloquently for one so small. Not that Clef... notices. He looks only about fourteen or so anyway.]

Welcome to the Astral Plane, Miss. Unlike the one you might have heard of, this one doesn't require meditation to achieve. Nor were you brought here of your own volition. I believe the Twins and a woman named Meredith Sault are responsible.
You can return to where you were previously simply by concentrating, and no time will have passed. You might find that fact to your advantage, if you're a researcher.

You certainly speak far older than your years, young one! And quiet seriously, I might add.

This does seem like a serious situation.
