001 [A Brave New World]

[There is never really a ‘good’ moment to arrive on the Plane for the first time, but some appearances are more inconvenient than others. The girl who has just appeared is carrying a picnic basket in one hand and a broad-brimmed sun hat – which doesn’t quite fit with the black and white stripes of the rest of her outfit – in the other. She has the air of a person who has been disturbed while packing for a holiday. She doesn’t, however, have the air of someone who is surprised by such a strange occurrence.]

Oh, I should have known that a holiday was too much to hope for!

[She looks around curiously. A little nervously too, perhaps, but at least she isn’t terrified.]

Grandfather? Grandfather, are you there?

Zoe?

[She pauses before calling out the third and final name, as if she is somewhat reluctant to use it.]

Jamie?

Hello?

I have been to multiple universes, but nothing that connects them all. This is unique to my experience, as well. [smiles softly] Do not deny your own intelligence. You are quite capable, child. I am certain you can help us discover exactly what is happening here.

You are quite taken with her, then? I had no particular care for her, or the McCrimmon boy. [and her face when she says Jamie's name suggests utter loathing]

[she can't quite understand why anyone would be lonely having those humans gone, seeing as Susan would have still had the Doctor and the TARDIS, but she has learned not to express these sentiments. well, sometimes. it's hard on occasion. hearing the girl vocalise a similar disinterest in Jamie, however, brings a small smile to the TARDIS' lips, though her voice does not betray any humour]

He did, yes. I would that he had kept his distance. His fondness for the Doctor was ... upsetting, I believe the word is.

[oh Susan, just wait until Jo comes along. or, heaven forbid, you stick around for Charley. well, so thinketh the TARDIS. her opinion might be a little skewed]

Were you following a time line I have experienced, I would be wary of telling you, but it seems your path has all ready diverged from that which I have taken. I see no reason I cannot discuss his companions with you. Are there any you have a particular interest in?

[basically, you wanna know the good ones or the bad?]

[and the TARDIS smiles in remembrance] There were a few. At some point, you will meet a woman named Elizabeth Shaw. She is intelligent and clever, much as you are, and will assist your grandfather in his endeavours on Earth. Assuming you take that path.

And Sarah Jane Smith. She is a reporter, and terribly energetic. I did not approve of her relationship with the Doctor at all times, but I enjoyed her company and her intelligence.

There is Adric, who is so very similar to you. He is here, as well, child. A boy around your own age -- comparative, at least. He is bright and clever, a mathematician and so very brave. You will like him, Susan. He is one of my favourites to have travelled with your grandfather.

And of course there is Ace. I do not approve of her relationship with your grandfather in some regards, but she is to me as you are. She is fiercely loyal and strong, as well as independent. A quick thinker. I believe you will like her as I have grown to.

There are more, but I believe those are the ones with whom you might get along most.

Family. It is strange to consider them as such. I have only recently come to understand the familial unit. Before your grandfather's Seventh, it was only ever him and you I thought of.

As did I, child. You are still my favourite, however.
